I don't get it. Why is Iowa a democratic state? My sister says Iowa stands for "Idiots Out Walking Around."

What businesses are in IOWA that are exported to other areas?

Seems there is a FR movement going now, to ban all products, unions etc. that are Democrat leaning.

How can that apply to IOWA?

What I always heard is they vote democrat because they are almost completely reliant of agriculture subsidies. But that never made much sense to me considering that dark red states like Kansas and Nebraska are just as reliant.

Spending too much time out in the sun without a hat?

Misinterpreted the term “free market concepts” for “free cheese and Marxist concepts”?

Iowa now has and has always had a Commie Belt. This is a semi-industrialized region to the North of DesMoines ~ full of union people, farmer's collectives, that sort of thing, and the dregs from the old Amana Colonies where they combined free sex with oppression ~ kind of an early wide ranging S&M operation.

Hope I got that right guys ~ my only connections to Iowa are in the SE where you'all think they speak with a Souvrn' accent.

There is atleast one or more John Deere factories in Iowa. That would be some big ticket items to say no to.

Simple: They’re idiots. Just like everyone else in this country. They simply don’t realize that free stuff doesn’t come from “Obama’s stash,” but from taxpayers, and that this is not a bottomless well from which we can draw.

Simplest explanation is usually the right one: Most people today are stupid, and some states just flat have more stupid people than others.

They might have a clue when the cost of heating their homes and driving to work drains their wallets. It is coming you IowIdgits and don’t look across the river to Nebraska because we will be in the same sewage boat thanks to you morons. Once the farmers can no longer afford to work their fields because of the price of fuel and trucks no longer run for the lack of it you can look forward to farm collectivization and you city obummer twits will be told to do your civic and democrat party duty by working the fields pulling a plow.

Dumbasses.

Iowa has a large Dem base here in the Des Moines metro as well as some other cities.

Rural areas are generally much more conservative.
Demographically the population has left rural areas and concentrated in urban areas.

Simple as that.
