Time for Plan "T"
November 8, 2012 | NonValueAdded

It is time for the Republicans to execute Plan “T” as in “You asked for it, you got it [Toyota]” or alternately, “Teachable Moment Time.”

Speaker Boehner should make the following public proclamation:

Dear President Obama,

Congratulations for your re-election. I am sure the desire to claim a mandate is strong, a repeat of your “I Won” moment. But be advised, the Republican House was re-elected too and we could make a strong case that the voters' mandate was gridlock. So let neither of us go there just yet.

My proposal is simple: we are going to give you a fiscal honeymoon. Bring forward your legislation to solve the problems of the pending financial cliff and to implement the plan in your glossy brochure. We, the Republican House, will not stand in your way unless you choose to overreach beyond reason. Stray not into the social policy arena, this deal does not apply there. The economy should and will be our first priority.

File your legislation. We will timely ask questions to be sure and seek clarification as to your goals. But we will not oppose your basic plan. In fact, we will vote “present” as a tribute. We further urge you to explain to the American People what you are doing and why. In fact, we insist on that. This offer is good only until the end of the current term of the Congress.

Understand well that this is to be the Democrat's plan. You will not have George W Bush to blame nor will you be able to blame the Republicans or the next Congress. We will let your plan run for the fiscal year and reap whatever you have sown. Come the start of the next Fiscal Year all bets are off. Either your plan has worked or we will be duty bound to our constituents to pick up the pieces.

The ball is in your court, Mr. President. Will you accept this compromise?

Alternately we could call this Plan S for “shrugged.” Let's give America its Teachable Moment.

And Dear God, House of Representatives, find us a Speaker up to the challenge of doing battle. Let this plan be Boehner's swan song.

And should Boehner do with or without tears?

The tears will come later, but from all of us.

Bill Clinton was president and molesting employees in the Oval Office last time we even had the fiction of a balanced budget. Not going to hold my breath for this Congress to cut off their money train.

Won’t happen, especially with Boehner as Speaker.

why did we vote for republicans when we could get this from the dems?

Because the electorate gave us Obama and it is time for them to feel the full impact of that choice.

Or it's four years of gridlock and a repeat demonization of the Republicans by the next RAT to come down the pike. Look how well it worked for them this time.

And give them the freedom to raise rates...without cuts? They can “compromise” on limiting deductions but do not touch rates. And cuts should match expected revenue shortfalls. Once a rate goes up, it’s forever. Deductions come and go depending on the strength of the lobby.
This was Krauthammer’s suggestion...wish he was Speaker.

I dislike your plan. I believe that Boehner needs to play hardball and say there will be no increase in the debt limit - under any circumstances.

I embrace the fiscal cliff because I am not scared of it. I think many with weak adherence to conservative principles are scared of the fiscal cliff.

Boner has no balls, no way would he ever do tis. He’d still be too afraid the msm and obama would hang the blame on him, and he’d be right they would try. He has no spine and no balls, ergo, he won’t do it.

I wish somebody would, though. Maybe Ryan might.

Yeah, it’s a good plan except for the Boehner part.

Works for me. Let the suckers have what they voted for, good and hard.

Conservatives in mass should FIRE the GOP. Boehner is not our friend, not our ally. In many ways the GOP is far more damaging then the commie dems.

We need to turn this country upside down now!

Producers need to stop producing...

Producers need to identify Obama supporters within their ranks and send them packing...

We need to clearly identify businesses that support Obama and stop supporting them...

Let’s give the dependent class exactly what they voted for.

We surround them...we cannot submit to tyranny!

First, Bonehead needs to be removed as Speaker and insert Paul Ryan! Second, well, there is no second! The rest will take care of itself!

Bring on the cliff. I’ve said for years that the purpose of many government jobs is to give otherwise unemployable people a middle-class lifestyle, and the purpose of many government social spending is riot control. As long as the US is making its debt payments, it cannot default. And the government takes in more than enough in tax receipts to pay its debt obligations.

Iceland went over the cliff, and now they are back on the road to recovery, all the fear tactics they used to pass TARP and the bailouts were a bunch of BS.
