Taking a leave of absence from FR
Me

Posted on 11/07/2012 9:47:53 AM PST by Big Steve

I know FR may be getting a lot of these, but I am taking a leave of absence from FR. I don't know what to say about yesterday's election, except it fell way below our expectations. I usually come in and observe in here, and I was very hopeful we would win. But when results came out and we would not win, I just wanted to cry. Where has our country gone? This is not the country I know. In the meantime, I will leave FR until I feel the need to come back again. God bless you all for what you do. Keep your heads up, and I will try to keep my head up in the future.

You could have just done this without the vanity and everything would have been fine.

Try and keep the faith Steve...I know right now things look really bad...we seem to have a new America...where freebies trump freedom...but as always, we will continue on...take a short break, catch your breath, and come back soon...:)

I feel the same way, but I must say. There are a lot of really great people here. We need each other. So like I am doing, go lick your wounds and then come back. I say screw the politics. It’s about survival now. Take care FRiend.

there wasn’t a single vote I made yesterday, senator, Prez, all the California propositions, that mattered.

I didn’t get one single bit of good news on this election. California unions and their minions, voted for increased taxes, to weaken the 3 strikes law, to give unions continued right to take money from employees checks to support their own cause...etc..

The TV is off now for all news, I can’t stand to look upon the face of this disgraceful president.

What if Washington and the few troops he had gave up Valley Forge, or the initial defeats we suffered at the beginning of WW@ - what if we all just gave up.

The Obamination has been given four more years to destroy this country. I'd rather stand and fight than crawl off somewhere in self pity.

Maybe a good idea for short term but long term we need every patriot. The Constitution would have never been written if the Founding Fathers only looked at odds or wins & losses.

A lot of work to do, join True the Vote or some other organization to ensure fair voting. Keep up on FR and join in on phone protests or other ways to be heard. They won four years of President but only two for Senate. Find good candicates to run in 2014, maybe even run yourself.

Like Shane once said when told he was leaving one way or the other, “I’d like to think it was my idea.” Keep fighting on your terms.

I'm taking a leave of absence from the entire internet EXCEPT for FR. I've Gone Galt from all TV, news, internet, ect.

Screw Politics. I'm preparing to take care of myself and those close to me. And FR is a resource towards that goal, as well as a comforting reminder that I am not alone.

Totally understand how you feel.

“... it fell way below our expectations.”

Not FR fault — on TV this a.m. someone called it “misplaced optimism.” Well that optimism was “placed” by Rove, Rasmussen, Morris, Gallup and even Barone.

I agree with another — take a break — see ya in the New Year.

Personally I think the election was masterfully rigged. In time maybe some of the architects involved will step forward at their own peril however I think they were probably paid very well so it might take awhile...

Okay we get this day of whining, crying and complaining, but hopefully tomorrow we get back to business, and hopefully as conservatives learn how to be united, stop all the infighting, set goals and objectives as to how we take our country back, and establish strategy.

If too many do what you are wanting to do, our task will be that might harder.

Think about it...everyone!

Thanks for posting. Others may disagree, but I’m interested in our various reactions to recent events.

I can’t see myself ever leaving FR - it’s too valuable as a news and information source, useful commentary aside. I generally have a 2-3 day lead (often more) on what eventually gets broadcast on the nightly news, and that may be very valuable in the future.

To be honest, I’ve already had my fill of the election discussion. No longer interested in those threads, so I just don’t read ‘em. I am very interested in others’ expectations for the future and in learning what their plans are to deal with them. FR is a good place to have one’s ear to the ground, so to speak.

Dark days are ahead. I liken the situation to Sandy - being prepared is important, but knowing what’s on the horizon is crucial too. You need both to survive. FR is my “over the horizon” warning system.
