Taking a leave of absence from FR
Me

Posted on 11/07/2012 9:47:53 AM PST by Big Steve

I know FR may be getting a lot of these, but I am taking a leave of absence from FR. I don't know what to say about yesterday's election, except it fell way below our expectations. I usually come in and observe in here, and I was very hopeful we would win. But when results came out and we would not win, I just wanted to cry. Where has our country gone? This is not the country I know. In the meantime, I will leave FR until I feel the need to come back again. God bless you all for what you do. Keep your heads up, and I will try to keep my head up in the future.

(this is sarcasm, of course) Shame on you Jim and John Robinson for running off all those weak minded Freepers who can't handle defeat or life. It's all your fault.

The election results are NOT because of this web site. Look deeper.

I know that. I just feel the need to do other things that will help me understand what happened and why it happened. FR is a great site, been a member since 1998 through our ups and downs. Will be on a member until I decide to stop posting altogether.

The concept “sanction of the victim” is defined by Leonard Peikoff as “the willingness of the good to suffer at the hands of the evil, to accept the role of sacrificial victim for the ‘sin’ of having values”. Evil is a parasite on the good and can only exist if the good tolerates it. What would happen if this sanction were revoked. When will it be time to take a stand and stop allowing the looters, users and takers to paint us with a false guilt. When should we give up and relieve ourselves of the burden of carrying the world.

There is an argument to dig in, take refuge where you can and hold tight. Let the liberal socialist masses rot in the putrid culture they have created.

I took a Leave of Absence from FR when they killed Teri Schaivo. I think I’ll do it again, read books -—maybe the Left Behind series...

Your post could be mine, just change it to Massachusetts. Hell, we even got our own Pelosi of the East.

It’s like I told the boys on my basketball team.....It’s only a defeat if you don’t learn from it.
I got knocked out a couple of times fighting. I learned to keep my guard up. I learned to not play around in the ring. I never got knocked out again. Yeah, we got beat.....big deal. It’s only a defeat if we don’t learn from it.

God Bless. I now know my daughters’ US citizenship (they live with me and my wife in Canada) is now just a waste of paper. Bye America.

What’s the point. The Republican may as well just close up shop. Let the Dummies have an uncontested Presidency next time around.

Reinforcement of post 40:

From GOA email:

Obama No Longer “Under the Radar”
Administration pushing UN gun control treaty once again

He’s ba-ack!

It took less than 24 hours. The votes in Florida were still being counted.

But with Obama firmly entrenched for four more years, the U.S. officially went on record this week to support a new round of talks on the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

Whereas he once told Sarah Brady he was pushing gun control “under the radar,” now he can openly launch broadsides against our gun rights.

On Wednesday, the U.S. joined 156 other countries in voting to finalize the treaty in March, 2013. Russia was the only major country to vote against.

Several media outlets have reported that the Obama Administration temporarily withdrew its support for the treaty this year, amid fears that such support could hurt him in the November elections. According to Reuters, “Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney.”

Gun Owners of America worked with Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) earlier this year to get 50 other Senators -- some of them Democrats -- to send a letter to the President opposing the treaty.

It was this letter, says Reuters, which prompted the Obama Administration to start “derailing the effort back in July.”

But now, with the President firmly ensconced in Washington for another term, the President is going to press hard for this gun control treaty.

So Gun Owners of America will be working hard with the new Senate to oppose the treaty. And should the President sign it -- and begin lawlessly implementing the treaty through Executive Orders -- GOA will press the House and Senate to begin defunding his efforts.

We’ve done this before … we can do it again … together.

It’s going to be a long, hard battle. And while we know this is going to be a tough economy, we really need you to stand with us and help us have the resources we need to fight these battles.

Thank you for all your help.

GOP's sudden about-face on immigration

It's coming a lot faster than I thought. The Yellow Brick Road is just ahead, on the right (pun intended).
