Taking a leave of absence from FR
Me

Posted on 11/07/2012 9:47:53 AM PST by Big Steve

I know FR may be getting a lot of these, but I am taking a leave of absence from FR. I don't know what to say about yesterday's election, except it fell way below our expectations. I usually come in and observe in here, and I was very hopeful we would win. But when results came out and we would not win, I just wanted to cry. Where has our country gone? This is not the country I know. In the meantime, I will leave FR until I feel the need to come back again. God bless you all for what you do. Keep your heads up, and I will try to keep my head up in the future.

But, can we trust you won’t take a peek now and then?

"The TV is off now for all news..."

Same here.

My wife will be thrilled as she will now be able to watch her cooking shows. I just hope there will be food available to cook in 6 months or so.

Actually, I feel more drawn to FR when we LOSE. It's a place to vent, and share ideas and comments with like-minded people.

Sometimes non-sensical and liberal-minded people post, but all you have to do is not read them.

But, we all sometimes need solitude to lick our wounds and re-group.

Good luck.

Good analogy. What if McCaulife gave up at Bastonge and let the Germans get to Antwerp? Don’t give up, pray and prepare for anything.

You need to listen to some good ol boy music such as Willie Nelson: “We don’t run, we don’t compromise, we don’t don’t quit, we never do” or Stoney Larue: “If I’m goin’ down, I’m goin’ down in flames.”....that sort of thing. Your name sounds like you are a competent person of good size and we need that sort. Men leaving is how our country got into this feminized condition in the first place. All men, please, please show up and do manly things. The Govt. is taking over your raison d’etre here on earth. It is YOU who protect, fix, innovate, start up, explore...you. RETURN SOON TO MAN STUFF...or lose it all.

So long, You won't be forgotten till you leave. Cherrio, all that, keep your chins up, keep your shoulder to the wheel, your back to the wall, your eye on the ball...

That's all the parting wisdom I have.

I am sorry for the vanity, but I felt the need to make this post on how I felt. When things are looking up again, I will come back.

Steve:

It is said that a family that prays together stays together. FR is a family that prays together. I know we are all hurting this morning and maybe we even question where God is in these election results. To those I would simply say God's ways are not our ways. The Lord is still in control. He will lead us out of this valley in His own way and in His own time. HAVE FAITH Steve.

Me too. Tired of this echo chamber. Tired of the god is on our side bull. Tired of religious nut cases not opting for Romney because he’s a Mormon. Hope your self righteousness feels great as you pay 5$ per gallon on your way to church.

Tired of idiot Jews voting for a Muslim. 70 percent. See yah Isreal. Have fun getting bombed. Tired of Catholics and their “social justice”. Wanna kill your baby? No problem. We got your abortion mill right here.

Tired of H mos and their agenda. Your children will learn that it’s perfectly acceptable for dudes to sodomize eachother. Don’t like it? Well you’re a bigot...

17 years in the army. Multiple deployments. Nearly killed several times for this country. Can’t take it any more. Half the country wants socialism.

Well f them and f the government. It’s my wife and kids that’s it. That I will defend. Reverend Wright was correct. Goddamn America.

So long.

Georgia voted to allow Charter Schools. School choice may help us in twenty years. They will still be government schools though.

Hi, like me, I hear demoralization in your post. Hey, me too. And I agree with Rush Limbaugh and what he has stated in the first hour of his show. It’s obvious that the country today is not the country you or I was born into. But leaving FR isn’t the answer. Stay around, I urge you. Keep me company.

This sounds hugh and series. What happened? Were you stuned by your beeber?

Just thought you might need a little humor to remember us by. You’ll be back when the fog clears.

“If too many do what you are wanting to do, our task will be that might harder.”

That is correct, and everyone getting upset and hiding out will just give the left a bigger victory.

I fight till I die. I do not let the commies get me down. Hence my FR name. . .

The election results are NOT because of this web site. Look deeper.

We all express humor at the perpetual delusional state the Liberals and Democrats keep themselves in, but didn’t we just do the same thing?

All these anecdotes of a lack of obama lawn signs and bumper stickers, low-key opinions among fellow-workers who voted for him before, dejection among many of his other followers, less crowds for him and more, WAY more, for Romney.

What the Hell went wrong? Were we just talking among ourselves like that famous quote by Pauline Kael? (“I can’t believe Nixon won, I don’t know a single person who voted for him”)

When Indiana and Kentucky went for Romney, I thought there just might be something to the “tsunami” claim, but by 7:30 PM PST I started to feel like I did in the last election - Good God, can there be THAT may stupid people in America? I soaked in the tub and read a few chapters and by time I came back in the living room, that question received a resounding YES!

I won’t quit FR, but will lessen my visits, mainly as an archaeologist interested in a bygone civilization. All this brave talk about “next time” or “take back the GOP” are merely echoes of that original delusion.

This country is almost done and by time another four years rolls by it will be stick-the-fork-in-it time. Face it folks, the Free Sh!t crowd has won and will only increase with the coming/continuing Amnesty for illegals.

I’m going Galt even more than I have been before, say “P!ss on ‘em all” and hunker down. It won’t help me any and the end will be the same, just as if I just kept reading conservative message boards and tried “taking back my country”.
