Mourning in America---Why we lost.

Posted on 11/07/2012 9:39:42 AM PST by Trapped Behind Enemy Lines

It's really quite simple. I get it. It had nothing to do with Mitt Romney. He ran a very disciplined and focused campaign. Far superior in resources, focus, organization, and discipline than John McCain's. None of the Republicans running this year could have defeated Obama. The reasons are clear and obvious to me:

Barack Obama is implementing here in the US the very same policies Hugo Chavez has successfully implemented in Venezuela: Take over key industries. Get the majority of the population dependent on entitlements and government support programs to secure their votes. Raise taxes and redistribute wealth away from the dwindling productive classes. Ignore our colossal debt.

This has been going on for centuries. In ancient Rome politicians in the Republic and later the emperors bought off or subsidized the urban, often shiftless and unemployed urban masses with free food and entertainment and public spectacles. This was done through government largesse and increased taxes on the decreasing productive members of the society.

The problem is no one really cares---not even with spectacle of Europe collapsing under monstrous debt levels and unsustainable entitlement programs. With $16 trillion in debt, one could plausibly argue that the US is already effectively bankrupt---we have more debt than all of the EU countries combined.

The other problem is NO SENSE OF URGENCY about any of this. Looking at the overall vote totals, 14 million fewer voters particpated in the election than four years ago. John McCain actually received more votes than Mitt Romney.

Democracy really cannot work, Our founding fathers set up a limited government constitutional republic, not an unlimited government mass democracy. Our founders feared mob rule and for good reason. They knew the masses would eventually vote for themselves more benefits at the expense of others. That is why they set up the Electoral College and required voters in federal elections to be property owners. A very wise idea in retrospect.

The situation is made worse by our dysfunctional public education syatem. Where young minds are inculcated at very young age by neo-Marxist teachers unions and later radical university professors where they are taught far more about Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez and social justice than they are taught about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Patrick Henry, and Benjamin Franklin. If our young people were properly instructed, they would know that the entire purpose of the Constitution was to limit the power, size, and scope of the Federal Government, and leave most powers to state and local governments while at the same time protecting inndividual liberty and private property rights.

Our pathetic pop culture, depraved Hollyweird celebrities, not to mention a professional news media nearly 90% in the tank for the Democrat Party in every election simply hasten our plunge into the abyss.

From my son’s Facebook page: Looks like a lot of cheating going on:

Something that is bothering me right now:

Scott Walker (R), governor of Wisconsin, wins the statewide election for governor of Wisconsin in 2010. He is later recalled. He wins his recall. In a statewide election he wins twice. The republican wins a statewide election twice in Wisconsin. Yet in a statewide election tonight the democrat wins. Who are these people in Wisconsin that voted for
Scott Walker (R) - voted for him twice, most recently on 5 June 2012, just 5 months ago, where he won by a 53% to 46% margin - who are these people that only 5 months later vote for Obama (D) by a 52% to 46% margin? How does this make sense? And if this does not make sense, then what else out there is all contradictory to common sense logic?

If somehow this does makes sense to anyone else, can you please explain it to me?

Based on moderate relatives that live in a swing state, it was because of all the crazy talk rhetoric coming from a few extremists (the rape comments, etc).

It was just enough to push those on the fence over to the other side. GOP has to own that in order to win the next round. Can't bury our heads in the sand. Extremists hurt us greatly in this election. Need to shut them up the next time around.

The media, just lie in 1992, did not vet properly their candidate. Then they go on to pose a reporters and journalists.

The problem with it is that (a) in time of war, the property owners always send the children of the non-property owners off to fight and die, and (b) the mass media make it impossible to keep the decadence and greed of some - a minority - of property owners under wraps; the political dynamic will then be used to paint all property owners to look like the most awful property owners.

we lost quite simply because

1 the media have been ignoring issues and covering up for their messiah and the media need to be called out over this.

2. black racism, I say this because blacks would not have come out to vote for a white obama, they voted not on issues but color and that put him over the top in VA, OH, FL.

3. we have too many, far too many dopey thick stupid idiots which have no idea what they are voting for and just think they;re smart because they hear a talking point or bumper sticker slogan and then keep repeating it

4.voter fraud, voting more than once, non registered folks voting, throwing out obervers, intimidation and fighting photo ID, illegals voting, machines not working and going to obama when pressed for Romney

That is why we lost and when you look at the results they do not make sense.
5% more union votes, in OH, come on there is no way that happened.
MD voting for homosexuality, please so now black voters support turd poking.

“None of the Republicans running this year could have defeated Obama.”

I disagree... A number of them could have. Mitt never had the support of the base. He’s not a conservative. The votes he got from conservatives were just votes against oboma. He was perhaps the least ogf two evils.

The Constitution was great but it had a key flaw - the Commerse clause. Big enough loop hole for the enemies of the Constitution to drive a tank through.

some of these results don;t add up.

MD blacks and churches voted for homosexuality, ER NO WAY.

Grayson gets booted out two years ago but then voted in now by a big margin.
What you said about Walker, he wins twice and then the same voters vote for oabma, doens;t make sense.
military votes in VA went split and was the only state where this happened and that was a swing state.

Look something is not adding up here and then we know about observers were being thrown out.
Broward county here always waits for all counties to report then they report last to see how many votes they need.
Philly threw out obervers so how many votes were put in there.

jobs lost, homes lost, debt, chick fil a protests, 2010 elections

This election does not make sense at all and seems very fishy but of course the DOJ will not look into it and if the GOP does then the Dems cr racism whilst ignoring the black racism which brought ut them to vote for the non white guy

I guess many of you freepers live in suburbs or in rural areas and don't live in the cities( I don't know)? But in the cities I see it being overrun by foreign immigrants (legal and illegal). So you have almost 30% made up of immigrants, hispanics, and blacks . And those 30% vote almost 90% for democrats/socialism/tyranny. These including the Kenyan Obama people are not Americans like we are . They don't share our values of self reliance and limited government and freedom.there is a foreign invasion going on , an invasion invited in by democrat traitors. This is war but and we have to realize it is us real Americans vs these foreigners and democrats.

Bingo. Or to paraphrase the great philosopher James Carville, "It's the media, stupid."

All day long all we heard were reports that voting was very heavy... I had to stand in line- for the first time ever.

And now they say millions FEWER people voted?

My voting place had the scanner fail just before I voted. I had to stick my vote in an ‘emergency bin’

4 more scanners, in heavy (R) districts, also failed that day (as reported on a local radio afternoon show)

I saw the woman who broke it- she put in her ballot and then for some reason yanked it out, which ripped it in half and jammed the machine. She then left without a word, not caring if her vote was cast or if she could get another ballot.

It’s really nothing that dramatic. We keep running big government “republicans” that don’t excite (actually annoy) the fiscal and Constitutional conservatives. If we run somebody that doesn’t have a history of socialized medicine or restricting free speech we’ll win. If we keep running democrats with a R after their name, we lose even if the r-crat wins.

Exactly so.

“It had nothing to do with Mitt Romney”

“It had everything to do with Mitt Romney”

We could write a Dicken’s book.
