Obama voters: "Brand" election...the economy didn’t matter?

A coupla observations, Obama voters: the economy didn’t matter… to them is was a “brand” election Democrat/ethnic/race/gender. Critical issues were not part of their mindset (a mystery to me… almost cult like?). Also it appears Obama voters don’t much vote down the ballot past president and senator. This explains GOP strongly holding the House and many state offices. Obama voters also seem to be much less interested in mid-term elections, explaining 2010. They vote for the BIG Nanny.

To close: the GOP must discard their old establishment and Tea Party must get more politically savvy… two very winnable Senate seats were lost to saying dumb stuff (only Biden can get away with that). The GOP must study the “Texas Model”… Texas is FULL of Hispanics, yet votes Republican.

TOPICS: Government; Politics
KEYWORDS: 2012election; gop; obama
Observations on a BUMMER night! Would rail against the media, but what's the point? They're just another obstacle to overcome.

Take that up with the "moderates" who were gleefully helping the democrats and likely voted that way to prove it.

The enemedia is a problem, but not THE problem. There is no immediate cure for the problem. That problem is Americans are stupid, and accepting of socialism. As of today, a majority of Americans think socialism is superior to capitalism and is GOOD.

It’s going to be a bumpy ride in this hand basket, but we know where we’re headed.

Last nights results were about government handouts, queer marriage, condoms, abortions and marijuana. The economy didn’t play into the election at all. Many people living here DON’T WANT JOBS. THEY WANT HANDOUTS AND FREE STUFF. They said America was on the wrong track and want us to continue going that way until we go over the cliff. It’s Pah-Tay time in America!

Way too many people collecting a gov’t check and/or receiving benefits. Almost all of them vote Dem. Sometimes it makes you not want to care about the country anymore and only care about yourself.

We are no longer a center-right nation. We aren’t even a moderate middle of the road nation.

Over half the population just reelected the most liberal president in the history of the USA.

A country is only as good as the majority comprising it, and apparently we’ve seen what that majority truly wants. Don’t see much point in me wasting my compassion on that.

Crip, both candidates, at this moment, got fewer votes in this election than did George W Bush in 2004.

As I"ve been instructing folks, the ways you would evaluate a normal election with the number of voters increasing relatively in the same percentage as total population growth, just don't work here.

We had two UNPOPULAR, virtally UNLIKEABLE candidates running against each other. Neither got anywhere near their party's historic high!

It's pretty clear that there are unhappy people somewhere ~ obviously Conservative Republicans are unhappy with the GOP_e, but what Democrats are unhappy? Maybe we might look at the House of Representatives elections and the state legislatures to find who those unhappy Democrats might be, and what we might do to CONVERT, en masse, their faction to the GOP.

Whoever they are they've not been showing up to vote for Congress-critters or members of the legislature. Could they be retirees? Maybe they're Democrats with a college graduate living in the basement! Whatever, except for the Obamista faction, the Democrats are definitely not winning all the elections ~ and you and I are old enough to remember when Democrats used to expect to win everything.

over half?

Do much math?

1/6 of the population cared enough to vote for Obama. The same number, virtually identical, voted for Romney. Together they aren't even 1/2 ~ 2/6 = 1/3.

Forty-seven percent of the nation cares not a wit for the economy as long as they are getting their government check. I’m guessing that by 2016 that number will be in excess of 50 percent.

The GOP has been moderated into a coma by these so called "moderates and you want to bring more into the fold.

Should have said voters, not population, but my point remains the same.

No, your point is still as irrelevant ~ in 2012 Republicans caught up to Democrats in the number of voters ~ in 2008 we had 10 million fewer voters!

The problem you are pointing to was actually improving.

We still lost, but by less!

Virtually all the people I know of indirectly who voted Obama are either unemployed, drug or alcohol addicts or disabled people. With the exception of few such as the genuinely disabled ones, the rest are just a bunch of lazy free-loaders. So of course the economy doesn’t matter to them. Obama is their champion. They live on our taxes and it’s going to get alot worse :(

My father reminded me that in his lifetime, really only one conservative - Reagan - was even ever elected. Scary to think about.

Not all Democrats are moderates ~ some of them are simply stupid, and if you don't believe that look at the top Dem ~ Obama himself. The dude is stupid!

But pay close attention ~ I pointed to Democrats who didn't vote!!!!

just looking at coal mining district results ~ haven't seen Republican sweeps like that in nearly a century.

But the reacharound stuff ~ just absolutely disgusting. Watched that last stupid Romney ad and said to myself ~ "Hey, self, I ain't votin' fur some guy who wants to do Democrat stuff" ~ so know what you mean!
