I agree with you! The right needs to drop fighting gay rights and abortion as political issues. That does not mean churches can't preach from the pulpit, but the party has to start leaning more libertarian. The problem is that the left and the media will still portray any Republican candidate as an extreme white Christian who hates brown people. Even if they dug up Ayn Rand and nominated her, she'd be labeled "out of touch with the mainstream."

The fact is, with the media, the Democrats have a propaganda machine that would have made Josef Goebbels envious.
