I apologize for the Caps... That is how the ballot was written and I had to copy it. If I didn’t have to use html to fix the paragraphs, I might have attempted to fix the caps. But, it took me long enough to space it out correctly. :)

I think you have it backwards. The reason you have a bunch of seats with unopposed dems is because it’s a dem stronghold. GOPers with an eye on a political career move elsewhere. As for why it’s a dem stronghold, my guess is Kennedy seed, those guys spread their liberalness far and wide.

I guess that is probably true! I hope if Scott Brown makes it in again and hopefully by a landslide, it may prompt others to try again! (fingers crossed)

I wish I was able to vote for Sean Bielat against Joe Kennedy. What an obnoxious little snot he is.

You should see Hawaii. Even the “nonpartisan” races are all Democrats.

I think it’s shameful, that Roseanne Barr wasn’t included on the ballot. ;)

I will be writing myself in on all of the Democrat races. If no write in is available, I’ll leave it blank. They will not get my vote.

I suggest you consider a move to Arizona. In my district, nearly every "choice" on my ballot was an unopposed Republican.

It warms your heart.

My ballot had a Republican for Congress on it. I never saw any sort of an ad for him of any sort. I voted for him anyhow. Two years ago there was at least some campaign done, not this time.

I just may do that! I appreciate Arizona tremendously...

I’m not sure if you are aware of this (and I’m NOT trying to insult your intelligence!), but you don’t have to vote for anyone you don’t want to. Your vote will still count even if you don’t vote for some of the candidates on the ballot.

Perhaps if more people understood that about voting (again, this is not directed at you), we might see a better mix of candidates in some areas.

That’s my ballot, too!! I live in Shrewsbury; how about you? My precinct usually goes pretty conservative. IIRC, we almost always go Repub. for the Presidential election.
I went by right at 8am, and went right in. There wasn’t a line, but it was pretty steady for both of the precincts that vote at the Public Works garage.

I actually do know that my vote counts whether I vote for a particular person or not. My non-vote would be one less vote for that person. :)

I am not offended! Some may not realize that, especially if you are new to voting!

Well, hello neighbor freeper! I am in Mendon...

Not sure how the polls are going to look. I am waiting for the hubby and daughter to get out of work and we will tackle this together. Should be interesting to see how the lines will be at that time.

I really wanted to vote early, but they wanted me to wait. This will be my daughters first time voting. I made her watch all the debates so she could make her own decision. I am so glad Obama looked like a turd and Romney shined. I didn’t have to tell her she couldn’t vote. LOL - I wouldn’t do that anyway I don’t think? Hmmm... conflicted!

They do not give people the choice
They? There is no law in Massachusetts barring you or anyone else from running as a Republican in any of these races. Heck, if it's just a Dem on the ballot, run someone as an official "Tea Party" candidate to highlight the choice. You see no candidates to vote for, I see an opportunity to fill a void and get in on the ground floor!

Massachusetts is hilarious.

When visiting I walked the famous liberty trail and was overcome by my proximity to our incredible American history. I ended in a gift shop where everything referenced the great American Presidents... Washington Jefferson Lincoln Kennedy. This is everywhere. Those people live in an alternate universe.

ever wonder why Massachusetts is a Dem stronghold?

The original settlers of New England were mainly from the area of England called East Anglia. They were mainly Puritans and were a different breed and had different ways from settlers from other areas of England.
