They've Been Weighed, Who is Found Wanting (my vote)

Since 1996, I have been terribly underwhelmed with the Republican nominees for the Presidency of the United States.  I have made no bones about the fact that I haven't voted for the nominee two of the last three general elections.  I took a pass on Bush in 2000, voted for him in 2004, and took a pass on McCain in 2008.  Look at what Bush passed off in 2008.  I voted for that.  Good grief!

When I make it known what my vote is going to be, I try to be reasoned about it.  I'm not here to convince everyone else to vote as I do.  I tell you what my reasoning is, and let the chips fall where they will.  When asked before the convention, I'm pretty up front and verbose with my thoughts.  If folks want to vote for the likes of Dole, McCain and Romney, so be it.  I'm not always going to be on board.  This year I have made it known that I would not be voting for Mitt Romney.  I don't to these things lightly without a lot of thought on the subject.  I try to make statements that I will need to change later.  I just try to be honest about what my take is.

It's late on November the 5th, and early on November the 6th in parts of our nation.  Our nation is at rest.  Tomorrow will be a new beginning or more of the same and worse.  I am not convinced our nation would survive four more years of the same and worse.  I do expect Mitt Romney to fail us from time to time.  I'm not happy about that.  It has weighed heavily on my decision this year.

I believe a good part of all you need to do to question a no vote on the presidency this year, is to watch two speeches by Obama, and two speeches by Romney.  In truth you'll see a lot of repetition in both. 

What you will hear from Obama is a despising tone about our economic system.  The man doesn't express any comprehension that the same economic policies he trashes as not having worked, are the same policies that made the United States the undeniably premier nation the world has ever seen.  What you don't hear is that the policies he supports, have been the policies utilized by the biggest nation failures of all time.  There's something else you won't hear.  Those policies have resulted in upwards of 100 million deaths in the 20th century.  If you toss in abortion to boot, we're talking about 150 million dead humans.

What you won't hear from Romney is dislike for our economic system or our Founding Principles.  He displays a sense of understand major principles like defense, economic policy, and something as simple as getting people back to work.  I know there are skeptics out there who think he can't get people back to work right away.  I believe he can.  I believe he is determined to, and I think he's willing to buck the system to reduce drags on the economy, to make it work

We know who both these men have hung out with.  I'd rather be hanging out with Romney's crowd.  I'd also rather have that crowd hanging out in our White House.  I'd rather have someone like Romney listening to our military and reacting by making the informed decisions.

For all of McCain's faults, if he were president on September 11th, 2012, our people would not have died in Bengazi.  What's more, there wouldn't have been a run on that compound, because McCain would have listened to his security briefings and would have shored up security.

I could go on, and there are good reasons to.  In the end I would say what I'm going to now anyway.  I will spare you the reasons you know all too well.

Despite having said different a number of times, I have grown to appreciate Mitt Romney.  Two pictures below tell you a lot about a man.  I don't think Romney is perfect.  He's far from it.  So am I.  What he did find a way to do, was to grow a very good family.  His sons are honorable.  He seems to have the respect of them, and of the daughters-in-law, and is clearly loved by his grand-children.

I will be voting for Romney/Ryan tomorrow.  The nation hangs in the balance, and I cannot stand by another election while one of the worst leaders the world has known, consolidates more power for him and his backers.

To those of you will say, I told you so, I say, "Yes you did."  I'm willing to change my mind if circumstances warrant, and I believe they do.

Here's to cleaning Obama's clock tomorrow, and ending George Soros' connections far and wide.

For months, I was one of Mitt Romney's biggest critics here. But, over the past two months, Romney has done something I didn't think was possible -- win me over as a supporter.

I never would have guessed a few months ago that Romney would run as conservative campaign as he has. He has developed into the best Republican candidate since Reagan. As much as I hate to admit it, Ann Coulter might have been right about him being the candidate with the best chance of defeating Obama.

I still expect Romney to disappoint conservatives on some issues. But, I don't believe he would have run so strongly on conservative principles if he didn't plan on following through on a conservative agenda.

He might just surprise us all and be the most conservative President since Ronald Reagan.

I have many reservations about Mitt Romney. And in spite of every one of them, voting for him tomorrow will be one of the easiest things I’ve ever done in my life.

It takes an honorable person with lots of integrity to admit a change of position. I appreciate your honesty. To me you stated the key reason that I am voting Romney/Ryan....we are in a state of clear and present danger and the country hangs in the balance. That is good enough for me as a reason

Romney is a better candidate than I thought.

I voted for him already (absentee), and though it was originally to be a vote only to cast the Marxist out, I'm actually feeling positive about the vote FOR Romney now.

I know there will be disappointments if he wins, but I can handle disappointment any day compared to the nightmare of waking up every day to some new outrage Bambi has perpetrated on us all.

In the end it was a no brainer.

I don’t know. Can’t argue with anything you posted. But, compared to previous times, I’m strangely passionless about the election, in all honesty. I should be so wildly motivated, given that Obama has been the most evil, destructive force inflicted on this country in my lifetime, by an order of at least tenfold. Two reasons I’m guessing. At this point the country seems so ridiculously unsalvageable, as it sinks further and further into deep economic, moral and cultural decline... it just makes the political scene seem so laughably moot.

Then there’s Romney, while obviously a tremendous improvement, is still someone I can’t really say I trust. Especially on key issues of paramount importance to me. After the past few years of being so burned by the GOP, from Bush pushing his horrific amnesty agenda, to the backstabbing of Palin, to the nominations of the most liberal Republicans for office, I’ve tended to lose all my decades-old faith and allegiance to the Republican party that formed during Reagan’s era. There’s a deep disconnect and a deep distrust I never had before. Makes things rather miserable, actually. But I’ll vote.

Much more keen on and more invigorated by grassroots activities like tea-party rallies and Chick-Fil-A protests!

I do want to caution you though. Arnold Schwarzenegger ran a very good campaign in California, from a fairly Conservative point of view.

When elected he ran from that campaign like a scalded dog.

I’ve driven by Dixville Notch, but never stayed at The Breakers (the resort whose owner got Dixville incorporated as a township or whatever).

I think the only voters in Dixville are the owners and employees of The Breakers who actually live within the resort. I guess their staff is more liberal nowadays than it was in the 1980s (President Reagan got 93% or so of the vote there in 1984).
