Immigration touches a nerve for US voters in the Rio Grande Valley
RFI‎ ^ | November 5, 2012 | Laura Angela Bagnetto in Brownsville

Posted on 11/05/2012 6:02:16 PM PST by moonshinner_09

In the Rio Grande Valley, one of the most pressing issues during the US presidential race is what each candidate says about immigration. This resonates in south Texas and especially in Brownsville, where more than 90 per cent of residents are Latino. Barack Obama has tried to garner support amongst Latino voters with a last-ditch effort on immigration policy. Mitt Romney says he wants to see a solution to the immigration issue. He says illegal migrants should self-deport - that their lives will be so hard in the US that they will want to go back to their country of origin.

But that’s just not an option, according to Jaime Diaz, an immigration attorney in Brownsville, on the border with Mexico.

“It’s shameful that people that have an opinion about these issues can talk about it so lightly without really considering what they’re putting people through,” he says. “What kind of hardships and what kind of families are being destroyed.”

While many Latinos were unhappy with President Barack Obama’s lack of action on his immigration reform bill, they still have hope that in his second term, he will deliver on his original promises.

A third of the population of Brownsville was born in another country. Ahem. And it is one of the biggest crap holes in the continental United States.

Correct. Seems no one wants to hold the Coyotes, Mexican Drug Cartels, La Raza, MEChA, and the other Hispano-Racist groups responsible for their encouragement of Illegal Alienism (Illegal Aliens are not Immigrants)

In fact...all this “not giving amnesty to Illegal Aliens” is just another way to blame Whitey/Anglo/Gringo for all the problems in the Hispanic (esp Mestizo) community

San Antonio’s mayor’s mama is big time La Raza.

So far, Texas is still Republican but can’t say for how long.

I would very much like to ask these Latinos/Hispanics and others, especially those who proudly fly the Mexican flags on their homes, cars, clothing is this, if you are so proud of your country, (mostly all Mexico) then why is it so awful to imagine returning to it?

Second question, if returning to your home country (again, mostly Mexico) is so awful that you must split up families to do so, why do you proudly fly your Mexican flag?

If you are so proud of your home country, (Mexico) but choose not to return, wish to stay, work (or live on our social programs), send your children to U.S. schools, why don't you learn American English?

I suspect the reason that illegals don't wish to return to Mexico besides the fact that there are no jobs is that that government is so corrupt and drug violence is prevalent , that they have no hope for a future for themselves or their children.

The sad truth is with liberals who demand open borders is that they truly don't care about the lives of the illegals, those who would stay in their home countries but living conditions are so bad they feel the only hope is to come here no matter the cost or violence they face. If they did, they would insist absolutely no foreign aid goes without definite strings demanding proof of cleaning up government corruption and shutting down drug violence.

Dems sucked up bigtime----featured keynoter San Antonio Mayor Juan Castro genially introduced his mother to the Democrat convention.

Maria “Rosie” Castro is a busy activist---a radical ethnocentric anti-assimilationist, a key figure in the activities of “La Raza."

BLOOD-CURDLING LA RAZA STUDIES TOSSED OUT OF ARIZONA SCHOOLS

La Raza Studies does not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323).

The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America (pg. 167): “.......execute all white males over age 16,” (AKA the Plan of San Diego). America-hating Raza Studies teach (1) violence, (2) undermining US ntl security, and, (3) the need for Mexico to "re-take seven states in the Southwest...in order to make the SW a Chicano nation. "

SCHOOL BOARD NUT CASE Adelita Grijalva is the woman on the Arizona school board pimping La Raza indoctrination programs in Tuscon schools. Adelita is all up in arms about Raza Studies getting tossed via the AZ state legislature's action...she is the daughter of Raul Grijalva (D-AZ-7) who was just narrowly re-elected to our US Congress.

Cong Raul Grijalva is one of Mexico’s most productive and loyal Fifth Column in the US Congress....aiding and abetting the latino criminal underworld, colluding to take back the SW, and loot and pillage the US treasury.

==============================================================

God only knows what Mayor Juan Castro and Mamasita Castro are doing with San Antonio govt money.

La Raza is an "entitlement" race baiting organization funded with millioms of our tax dollars...... an organized pressure group which lines up illegal latino voters for vote-crazed US politicians .....agitating for more Third World immigration, and endless US tax-funded social services to illegals.

Ummmm. Dickweed. Why is this OUR fault? If Mexico is such a ****hole, why do American tourists spend millions of dollars down there every year? Your phony BS doesn't pass the smell test.

Two-thirds of jobs go to immigrants / The Washington Times | Stephen Dinan / FR Posted 11/1/12 by markomalley

Two-thirds who found employment under Pres Obama are immigrants, both legal and illegal, according to an analysis that suggests immigration has soaked up a large portion of what little job growth there has been over the past three years.

The Center for Immigration Studies is releasing the study Thur morning, a day ahead of the final Labor Dept unemployment report of the campaign season, which is expected to show a sluggish job market more than three years into the economic recovery.

That slow market, combined with the immigration numbers, could explain why Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney have struggled to find a winning jobs message in some of the country’s hardest-hit post-industrial regions.

“It’s extraordinary that most of the employment growth in the last four years has gone to the foreign-born, but what’s even more extraordinary is the issue has not even come up during a presidential election that is so focused on jobs,” said Steven A. Camarota, the center’s research director, who wrote the report along with demographer Karen Zeigler. (Excerpt) washingtontimes.com ...

Viscious Mexican gangs and drug cartels are said to operate freely across the border in Austin---the Texas state capital---right under the noses of the pols. Read on.

EDITED Zeta hit man details killings on both sides of border mySA.com | January 24, 2012 | Jason Buch / FR Posted by SwinneySwitch

LAREDO, TEXAS — A hit man for the Zetas Mexican drug cartel calmly related to jurors in a drug conspiracy trial---to his role as a hired killer.

In US District Court. Rosalio Reta pointed to Gerardo Castillo Chavez, 25, and identified him as a fellow Zeta. Reta, 22, told jurors that he had been in a team of hit men headed by Gabriel Cardona, an admitted Zeta, who has pleaded guilty to five murders that occurred in Texas 2005-06.

Reta said he was the triggerman in the murder of Moises Garcia, a Mexican Mafia prison gang member, in Dec 2005.

Reta, a U.S. citizen, received national media attention after the teenager was deported from Mexico in 2006 at age 17. He's known for his distinctive facial tattoos and boasts that he became a killer when he was 13 years old.

Prosecutors say Castillo Chavez was also a sicario, or hit man, in a crew that worked with Cardona's group, gunning down two people at a busy Laredo, Texas intersection in April 2006.

He faces up to life in prison if convicted on firearms and racketeering charges and wide-ranging drug conspiracy charges; prosecutors presented evidence of a decade's worth of Zeta operations in Texas.

Reta said that he fled to Mexico after two murders in Texas, for which he's now serving 70 years in prison, and worked with Castillo Chavez.” In May 2006, Reta testified, a team of killers was dispatched to El Punto Vivo, a nightclub in a suburb of Monterrey, Mexico.

“Hitmen Chema and Chavezs went into the bar,” Reta said. “They shot, they threw some grenades and they killed four people.”

Afterward, the hit squad went to a convenience store for snacks and drinks. Prosecutors played security video showing Reta and three others making purchases.

Jurors also heard Laredo police detective Robert Garcia testify that he linked the sicarios using phone records.

The big break came when an insider---a DEA informant---was tasked by the Zetas with renting a safe house for Cardona's crew. Garcia said he worked with the feds to thwart the Zetas' attempted hits and to gather evidence.

Defense attorneys questioned Reta as to why someone who had shown great care to hideout after killings in the U.S. would so brazenly hang out at a convenience store, even microwave popcorn, after committing a high-profile killing in Mexico.

“In Mexico, the cartels run everything,” Reta replied. “So it doesn't matter if you get caught on video. We are the law over there.

Rosalio Reta.

“San Antonio’s mayor’s mama is big time La Raza”
_____________________________________________________________________________________

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro’s mother is a vile, gringo
hating La Raza trashista. She is militant MEChA lite. She claims the gringo defenders of the Alamo were all crooks
and criminals.

But she conveniently forgets about the Texican defenders like Juan Seguin. She also conveniently forgets about the head criminal of the attacking Mexican Army, Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana. He only came to Texas because they had the
nuts to tell him FU. And that is after he spent a year
marching around Mexico, killing any of his own citizens
who opposed his becoming a dictator after he illegally
shredded the Mexican constitution of 1824. BTW.. Santa
Ana came to kick some nuts in Texas and got his own
busted by a smaller a better force led by Sam Houston.
That’s why Texas is part of the U.S. today. Too bad
Me-hee-co.

These Mexican Americans who have enjoyed the fruits of
freedom and prosperity in Texas, and then trash its name at every turn are traitors to this country, and this
state. I wish she would take her uber nationalistic Mexican fat a$$ back to Me-hee-co.

Mexico has been an independent sovereign nation for
almost 200 years, and can’t find any way to get its
sh!t together while benefiting from sharing a border
with the most prosperous nation on Earth.

To hell with her and to hell with Mexico. Sorry for the rant.

It is impossible for this story ever to begin at the beginning— with illegal entry. When these people address that problem and then address the rights of nations to protect and defend their borders with national border laws, then we can get to consequences and solutions.

Admittedly, decades ago the US enticed and invited crossings and placed the law in File 13, openly ignoring enforcement. They came, of course, made lives here and had children who seldom or never have seen anything south of the border.

Some say it will turn blue by 2016. If Strauss is still running Austin in 2013, there is a strong possibility that they might be correct. I fear Houston is going to have a battle one of these days with Quanelle X, Sheila Jackson Lee and NAACP on one side and LaRaza on the other. Most everything south of Victoria is generally an extension of Mexico.

Mexicans are the biggest bunch of hypocrites on the planet. They have so screwed up their own country they have to run away from it yet they have some of the toughest immigration laws in the world and they enforce them. It galls me to no end that despite their being “proud of Mexico’’ they doing nothing to fix it and as you point out they sure as hell aren’t grateful for being only one of only two nations in the world to share a border with the US. Heck they think they’re entitled to just waltz right in here and Americans be damned. Never once does it ever cross their minds how life would be for them if they were where Columbia is or Cuba.
