Colorado “Democrat of the Year” Convicted of Theft
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 3 Nov 2012 | John Semmens

Posted on 11/04/2012 1:01:57 PM PST by John Semmens

Estelle Carson was selected as “Democrat of the Year” for Jefferson County, Colorado for 2012 despite being under indictment for stealing from a 71-year-old wheelchair-bound woman who is partially blind and suffers from cerebral palsy.

Though Carson was under investigation at the time Chris Kennedy, chairman of the Jefferson County Democratic Party, presented her with the award, Kennedy said she didn’t think it would’ve been fair to allow that to influence her actions.

“The award is in recognition of efforts on behalf of the Democratic Party,” Kennedy explained. “Ms. Carson’s theft in no way diminishes what she has done for our Party. In fact, it’s possible that without the resources she was able to appropriate from this other person, Estelle might not have been as free to work on behalf of the Party.”

Kennedy admitted that she didn’t know enough about the specifics of the case to render a judgment “as to the equity of the redistribution Ms. Carson effected. Just because a person has disabilities doesn’t mean that they need all the money they have.”

You really have to stop this. There is virtually no diff between any humor involving liberals and sleeze that does not fit reality so closely that it does not ring true.

For those who don’t know, the really scary thing is that this is basically all news, no satire save the redistribution comment.

While the Jefferson County Democratic Party has since stripped the award, they initially refused, and really did say that the theft and her efforts for the Party were unrelated and so the award should stand.

He's going to have to stop simply because at some point the stories will be complete self-parodies and there'll be no satirical value to add.

It’s getting hard to parody these freaks when they do all the work themselves, isn’t it?

This week, the Republican challenger to the Democrat running for US Representative to the House of Representatives (will be replacing Sylvestre Reyes) attacked Beto O’Rourke. She said he had been arrested three times for burglary and drunken driving. He told her she didn’t have her facts straight and he had only been arrested twice. He said with that kind of rhetoric, she wasn’t doing anything to move El Paso forward. He, as a city councilman, also voted to overturn the vote of the people in a previous election which denied benefits to gay partners. He said we didn’t understand the wording when we voted. He was challenged on three counts of conflict of interest when his father-in-law helped draw up the plans for city improvements. He is pro drug legalization. He will be voted in to make laws for you and to spend your money by virtue of the straight ticket vote. Seems like he’ll fit good in Washington, DC.
