Taking a break from the campaign and posing for photo-ops with FEMA and other non-players in the recovery effort in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, while insisting that because of his leadership the entire country is behind the recovery efforts.(1)

He wanted to show the country that he was taking charge and told the reporters on hand “There is nothing more important than us getting this right” Doing nothing is not getting it right and that is what this administration is doing while claiming success.

One reporter in a moment of clarity asked Mr. Obama about the fear, suffering, and frustrations of New Yorkers, especially Staten Island. He said nothing and left to resume campaigning...

I reject the presupposition in all these articles that federal government is our de facto disaster relief agency.

Historically it has not been so, and while I do think the feds should play a role in disasters (freeing up gasoline stores, national guard to prevent looting, rescue personnel) I don’t think they should be our new Red Cross.

Galveston, TX was devastated some 50 years ago and recovered without “FEMA.”

Thank you for posting this article.

We can ‘blame’ FEMA all we want, but having the exact ‘right’ supplies in the exact places after such a wide scale storm is impossible.

We can ‘blame’ Obama, but he doesn’t control FEMA, and he couldn’t ‘run’ FEMA all by himself if he tried.

I don’t worship Obama, so I don’t expect him to provide miracles, even if he promises them.

We weathered a large storm, less than 200 people were killed, and nature destroyed some of what man built. It happens all the time, all over the world.

What really matters is if the ‘economy’ can start growing again in the US, which will fund the rebuilding of what we lost.

America has grown weaker since Obama and crew took office and played their socialist games. We cannot let him stay in office anymore.
