Where's Obama?

Katrina: "Where's Bush!"
Sandy: "Where's the governor? Where's the mayor? Where's FEMA?"

Everyone to blame but Oblamer.

The bonus: Benghazi is off the front page!

Reminds me of “Trapping Feral Hogs and other modern parables.”

Don’t live in high-population-density areas is a big part of the CW2 cube meta-terrain analysis. When the total infrastructure is totally ravaged in a high-density area, it gets crazy very fast. Imangine large multi-floor urban housing structures with no power or water. No elevators, no drinking water, no toilets.

No EBT cards, no food.

All those people who thought they would never need a gun are getting a look at reality now.

“Don’t talk like one of them. You’re not! Even if you’d like to be. To them, you’re just a freak, like me! They need you right now, but when they don’t, they’ll cast you out, like a leper! You see, their morals, their code, it’s a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They’re only as good as the world allows them to be. I’ll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they’ll eat each other. See, I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve” ~ The Joker

Add palm trees and you have every day in Havana for the past 50 odd years.

After sitting here Saturday without having to listen to wall shaking ghetto music I’m not in that of a hurry to get power restored.

The silence is deafening :)

Of course that may change if we get snow Tuesday .

medieval

Medieval sucks. I can hang with 1870s kind of lifestyle... but medieval sucks.

5-days food in the house. A way to secure and purify water Basic medicines and first aid supplies Food and supplies for pets Alternate communications (hand held radios) Stored fuel (Gasoline, propane, etc…) A way to keep warm, a way to keep dry. Candles, lanterns, flashlights… Battery operated radio to listen for news reports.

Also if you live in an apartment, consider keeping a large bucket and big bag of kitty liter on hand, regardless of whether you own cats, for reasons that will soon become aperant when the water is off for a while.

I saw a great show about life in the middle ages recently. Life int the later Medieval period (not the Dark Ages) wasn't so bad as most people believe. The worst part would be the lack of modern medicine. I would have been dead 15 years ago (appendicitis).

Don't have to "imagine".

There was a report linked off of Drudge of at least one apartment building with people crapping in the hallways

With the all but inevitable economic collapse and resulting widespread violent chaos, living in a major city on the East Coast will reduce your chances of surviving by a magnitude of ten. In other words, you need to GTFO now.

I've got friends that are SCA folks that do period camping. I've been with them for one of those. Once. Never again.

I did the mountain man thing (sorta late 1800s) for over a year, and that was much easier. I liked my little 8x12ft shack. Worst part was going potty at night during a blowing snowstorm.

The really interesting thing about that "photoshop moment," and one the world was waiting for I might add, is illustrated by the reaction of Obamazombies when they see it.

As I recall, the famous original featuring both Bush 41 and 43 catching fish together in New Orleans back in '05 had me laughing my butt off, and no one believes more than I do that GW got a raw deal over Katrina.

Conservatives have a sense of humor. Liberals, on the other hand, more specifically the kind of Chicken-sh*t, feather-bedding liberal rent-seekers infesting this administration, have about as much good humor as a Nazi POW camp guard.
