The Most Bizzare Performance in Vice Presidential History: Ryan Wins
http://www.TableOfWisdom.com ^ | 10/11/2012 | Scott Ryan

Posted on 10/11/2012 7:46:40 PM PDT by publius321

31 minutes into the debate and one thing is clear - Joe Biden’s behavior will appeal to the obnoxious who are already in his corner – but any decent person watching the circus environment of his creation - will recognize the absolutely sophomoric behavior for what it is.

Biden had his first strike against himself when he walked out on the stage with his face pulled so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it. At first I asked my wife what Barbara Walters was doing on the stage.

Biden’s non-stop, fake laughter was bizarre and painful to watch. He is a caricature of a used car salesman. I say caricature because it really is unfair to compare these hard working people to this buffoon.

EVERY SINGLE TIME that Paul Ryan began to make a cogent point, the shrill shill on the stage posing as a moderator interrupted “gentlemen, we have to move on”. Biden was enabled to give uninterrupted filibusters when he was asked a question. Biden was uninterrupted because he was on the stage with an actual gentleman. I cannot recall one time that Paul Ryan was allowed to make a single uninterrupted point when directly asked a question by the shill. It began to look obvious that there was collusion between her and the Obama administration. We know that is the Chicago way and we know that the Obama press colludes as we have heard first hand on recorded conversations between poseurs from competing news agencies.

If this were the founding era, I highly doubt that Joe Biden would ever made it to the station of US Senator. Biden would have likely been dead or in prison as a result of the many duals in which he would have no doubt participated given his indefatigable pomposity. This man would not last a day among gentlemen in an era where assaults against integrity were settled on the field of honor.

To advise this individual against such juvenile behavior would be to cast a pearl before swine. It is clear Joe Biden is not -nor has he ever been- a genteel man. In the end, this was a clear victory for Paul Ryan because he maintained his composure, he was earnest and despite Biden being twice his age – Ryan was clearly the only serious adult on the stage.

Biden certainly fancies himself a thespian and he has NAILED the personality of one fictional movie character who immediately came to mind 5 minutes into the circus. Watch and you will know who Biden was studying in preparation for this debate:

Now please parson me as I feel I must take a shower after subjecting myself to the grotesque performance to which we were all subjected.

Biden has to be the biggest idiot to ever set foot on a presidential debate stage.

Chris Wallace is SLAMMING Biden right now for his condescending crap. Perhaps we jumped too soon to say Ryan lost. Biden may have just overdone it.

Ryan won despite being tag-teamed by Biden and Martha Ratass.

“Biden’s non-stop, fake laughter was bizarre and painful to watch.”

His laughter was at inappropriate times - mental illness...does he drink?

The weirdness of his smile put me in mind of The Joker.

Every debate has a moderator who likes Democrats and hates Republicans. Maybe someday the GOP will insist on having a moderator who does not hate them.

Summary (also having listened to spin from the left, right, and middle)

Here’s what I think America will take from it:

Biden was hugely rude, obnoxious, childlike ... and ultimately said very little.

Ryan was arguably too quiet, but had facts, figures, a plan.

More importantly - Ryan quietly removed the ability for the Obama campaign to continue calling them liars. In all the sound and fury, Ryan never got dinged, he never got intellectually beat, he answered every question.

The story will be Biden, and it won’t be flattering - mostly will be played out on SNL. Slight win (in independents’ eyes) to Ryan because he held his own perfectly well.

Won’t move the polls, but has established Ryan as a solid national figure, re-enforced that RR is solid. That’s a win for RR. For the Dems - well, the base got to cheer for an idiot. Not much else.

Ryan looked very young, earnest, serious and determined.

The moderator was not bad and, in fact, put Biden on the spot several times. Her interruptions of Ryan were mostly after he had been speaking for a reasonable time.

Biden only had one moment of incoherent babbling which lasted for 10-15 seconds. But he didn’t step into it too badly given his realization that the media will cover the lie about the request for security from Libya.

I can say that Ryan did not lose at a minimum.

As usual the moderator had no idea what it looked like on TV.

Might could fix that with a moderator's teleprompter. On theother hand Biden came across like he needed more brain surgery, possibly this very evening.

Haven't seen worse behavior out of a Democrat candidate since the Algore paraded around the stage in the 2000 debate mumbling to himself and making animal noises and squeals.

Thought they were over that part of their lives but I guess I was wrong.

Breitbart's Big Government weighs in.

This evening, vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) took on Vice President Joe Biden in a wide-ranging debate covering everything from Libya and Iran to the economy. Biden’s demeanor was the story of the evening: smirking, laughing, snorting, shaking his head. The strategy seems to have been to laugh off America’s problems, since the Obama administration has done nothing to solve them.

The debate itself was secondary to the demeanor of Biden. Biden had nothing to run on, so he decided to distract. And those pearly whites were a bizarre distraction from what could have been a substantive debate.

Biden interrupted Ryan repeatedly. He would not allow Ryan to finish an answer; where he stopped interrupting for even a few moments.

This was the big problem for Biden going in: the American people didn’t like him. His favorables were far lower than Ryan’s. This debate did him no favors. And if the vice presidential debate was any indicator of the new, aggressive strategy of the Obama/Biden ticket, it will be off-putting to Americans in a dramatic way. It appears blustery and unlikeable – and most of all, dramatically angry and unserious.

Biden did it because Obama was somnambulant during the first debate. So Biden came out swinging. And more than anything else, he came out like an enormous bully, determined not to let Ryan get in a word edgewise.

The actions (or lack thereof) in Libya, Egypt, Iran and Syria are not compelling on either side.

Biden was just so condescending, arrogant and rude, I couldn’t believe it. Childish behavior unworthy of the position he currently holds.

Ryan was the only adult on the stage.

There is a pretty simple “explanation” for Afghanistan. It is an example of the necessary, if unpleasant, projection of American power in order to kill our enemies. Now the efficacy of that project can be questioned no doubt but not the intent.

My own view is that we need bases in Iraq and Afghanistan far into the future.
