An Urgent Message from the Publisher of National Review (he's for Wendy Long)
email from Wendy Long | Fri, 21 Sep 2012 | Jack Fowler

Posted on 09/22/2012 11:15:05 PM PDT by Sun

Dear fellow conservative:

Could there be a worse incumbent Democrat senator facing re-election than New York's Kirsten Gillibrand? And could we have a better challenger-a more reliable, articulate, intelligent woman; a more authentic, talented, and real conservative-than my old pal, Wendy Long? snip

The act of political donating used to be so . . . provincial. But we're all smarter now: We've learned, too often the hard way, that every senator, not just those from our own state, but every single senator has a huge impact on our lives. That one vote always seems to matter, snip

Without question, Wendy Long is part of that select group-along with stars like Ted Cruz and Josh Mandel-which our movement needs to get elected this November 6th. snip

Wendy served as law clerk to Supreme Court Clarence Thomas.

That got your attention.

Look friends, I'm the publisher of National Review, and while I get an okay salary, the fact is I have five kids, with lots of college bills being paid and to be paid. There's just not much moolah to be had for other things. But so what: I have donated significantly to Wendy's election effort. Like most of you reading this, I don't live in New York. My home is in Connecticut.

Wendy Long is the Ted Cruz of New York State!

imo, most of us would agree with Jack Fowler's viewpoint about supporting U.S. senators, even if they aren't from our state.

But if you can't afford to contribute to her campaign, you can VOLUNTEER for Wendy, call a talk show that airs in NY, or at the very least, follow her on Facebook or Twitter:

Gillibrand is almost as offensive and obnoxious in her own way as Schumer is in his way.

She makes me CRINGE, she is such a phony, such a hack.

However, just as Schumer will be Senator from NY until he’s carried out on a stretcher or gurney, so will she be if she wants it.

Because it’s NY.

And while there are many NYers who are smart and moderate to conservative, they cannot overcome the voting bloc in areas that are braindead Democrat.

I’m speaking the truth here. But it is valuable to fight, even in a lost cause. If the cause is right, even the fight itself helps regardless if won or lost.

What I’m sorry about is that you live in NYS. I’m sorry for you. She might be the Ted Cruz of NYS in her politics, but NY isn’t Texas and that’s the difference. People need to get that Ted Cruz beat David Dewhurst, another Republican, and that once he did that, he has no sweat in beating the Democrat.

This is in no way the situation in NY state.

So... what is their stand on Todd Akin? Are they rootin’ for the Democrat?

I don’t know “Sun” except that she was for Santorum. But there’s no doubt in my mind that she doesn’t really concern herself with who National Review supports in MO but is focused on Wendy Long’s efforts against Gillibrand.

I feel for her because NY is such a hard place for a conservative to live and bear up under that burden.

“Gillibrand is almost as offensive and obnoxious in her own way as Schumer is in his way.

Kirsten Gillibrand has a worse voting record than Schumer, as she even voted for our tax dollars to go to ACORN. Schumer did not.

We do get some nice surprises in NY State, like when Republican Bob Turner won for the first time in a district which no Republicans won since 1923. Then, of course, there was Ronald Reagan, who won NY with his landslide. My own state senator is a Republican, and a strong social conservative as well.

There was a primary, where they are still counting the absentee ballot votes where CONSERVATIVE Republican Kathy Marchione is ahead (so far) against RINO Roy McDonald.

The trouble with NYers is, they give up before the race really starts. The liberals never give up, and imo, that’s why they are winning the battles. By battles I mean we are losing our freedoms.

To those who want to give up on NY, I say this. Even if you don’t think a candidate can win, help them anyway, because even if they do well (without actually winning), it will encourage more conservatives to run in the future in NYS.

“..what is their stand on Todd Akin? Are they rootin’ for the Democrat?”

There are many who write for National Journal, and some I agree with and some I don’t.

“Mother’s Day idea from Kirsten Gillibrand: Why not donate to a pro-choice group?
snip

“This Mother’s Day, I can’t think of a better way to honor all the mothers in the country — past and present — than with a contribution to EMILY’s List,” Gillibrand writes. “They’re the ones working tirelessly to elect the pro-choice Democratic women who are making sure that our freedoms are protected for generations to come.”
snip
Emily’s List requires all candidates it supports to back taxpayer funding of abortions “

What an INSULT to mothers!!!! Anybody who votes for Kirsten Gillibrand is nuts.

Oops, I meant to say National REVIEW, not National Journal.

I guess, I was thinking of how National JOURNAL rated Kirsten Gillibrand the most liberal U.S. senator.
