On February 27, 1933 at about 9:25 PM a fire in Germany’s Reichstag building was detected. The Reichstag building was the assembly place for the German Parliament. After a brief “investigation” Adolph Hitler’s Nazis, who had already begun to take control of Germany, arranged the arrest of a Dutch Communist who was charged with the arson.
The fire and the destruction it brought was blamed on this handy scape goat, and Herr Hitler then pointed to him and used the fire as a reason for demanding dictatorial powers over Germany. Civil liberties soon started to disappeared and mass arrests of Hitler’s enemies were carried out. Soon Herr Hitler and his Nazis had absolute power.
“Cui bono” is Latin for “Who benefits.” Germans quickly saw who benefitted by this convenient fire, but their freedom was gone. The fire gave the Nazis the excuse they needed to grab control of a frightened German people and their nightmare began .
On September 11, 2012 the Islamist in the Middle East smashed their way into the American embassy in Libya and killed four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Just as Herr Hitler did in 1933 our government has issued...

I detest the Obama regime as much as the next patriot, but this seems a bit of a stretch.
Right, but it IS an interesting analogy.
The Reichstag fire was certainly a contrived event. I think Hitler’s scapegoat was a mentally challenged guy who couldn’t have defended himself even in a properly ordered political system.
I always think of the Muslim terrorists as ‘unbalanced’ anyway so this is kind’a interesting to me.
In any case, “O” wasted no time in looking for BS answers as to why the assault took place (AS IF we are not in a WOT) and who was responsible. What a rank amateur he is.

A better analogy would be the justification the Nazis used for attacking Poland, that Poles had seized a radio station at Gleiwitz and fired at Germans....the Germans then said that their attack on Poland was in response to the Poles’ attack.
Of course the entire radio station attack was staged by the Nazis.
No, I think it’s more of the consequences of the childish thinking of the left. They truly believe, like a child, that they can wish things into being their way.
They believe that;
1)brazen displays of weakness such as no weapons will inspire evil people to see them as trustworthy.
2)that the muslim brotherhood and palestinians have legitimate grievances and are rational. And that listening to their point of view will really change them.
3)That giving North Korea a nuclear program for power wil make them give up wanting a bomb. (they immediately built a bomb)
4)that a secretary of state with a big red toy magic “reset” button can literally make deep differences in philosophy go away. (what an embarrassment)
5)that islamic dictatorships hate us for any reason beyond needing the USA and Israel as a scapegoat to justify their nightmarish internal repression.
6)That is we give them huge amounts of money, they will like us. (childish)
7)that if we take people who are utterly steeped in the enemy religion and give them a rifle, and invite them into our base as our partners, they will not attack the first time they can.
8)that if you support the overthrow of Kaddaffy with a huge display of air power, that Libya won’t break out in an interpretive dance of love for the USA.
The left is rife with magical childish thinking. They are actually surprised by this. They HOPED that right now, the MB would be sharing falafel and presenting wreaths to the Ambassador. After all, we showed them we like them, and hate the Jews. We gave them money! We even gave Al qieda close air support in Libya. We helped, funded, and organized the MB in Egypt.
They are stunned, and just trying to make the best of it.

I have been saying for years - the rats burned down Lehman brothers in a Reichstag fire by letting them fall by choice prior to the election when the race was tight. Calls can be made for that soft of regulatory chicanery/ favoritism. Probably old Harvard buddies.
Now THAT was a reichstag fire. The initial fuse got lit by the mysterious four dollar plus fuel shock that spring. By may, banks were failing.

If one had to list who would benefit the most from the Libya incident happening two months before the election, Obama is going to be pretty far down the list.
We actually did lose a lot of civil liberties since 9/11. But not too many people think that was a "Reichstag fire".
