A potentially large change of events as former Virginia Governor Doug Wilder appeared at a Romney fundraiser today. This came after his criticism of Joe Biden for his "chains" comments the other day. According to Pajamas Media, Wilder (D-VA) was a surprise guest and was introduced by current Governor Bob McDonnell at the fundraiser in Richmond, VA.
Wilder had said that slavery was not something for Biden to joke about:

I don’t but it sounds potentially earthshaking. Zero’s camp would have a difficult time coping with a defection of this magnitude.

I wonder if Wilder would like to be considered for Sec. of Transportation or one of those slots that has been going to the other party. He’s still a Dem, but he sure would be an upgrade over “Republican” Ray “Bloomberg’s more evil twin” Lahood.
Wow! I fully expect a Romney-Ryan blowout in November, and I fully expect a slew of Democrat defections once it becomes obvious. But Doug Wilder? In August? No wonder the Obama campaign is in such a panic...
Wilder has had a centrist streak, so it isn’t a big shock. He’s backed Republicans before . That said , the first black Democratic governor in the US going for Romney would be a huge coup.

Did see part of the video. This is big. Wilder’s defection to Romney is an earthquake...IF the word gets around. He also spoke of the massive unemployment numbers in the black community.

Biden is a major asset — for the Republicans.
More like getting to the front of the line for the lifeboat. He doesn’t want to go down with the SS Obama.
Its like illegal immigration. They’ll never clean up their own mess as long as they can just cross the border and bring the mess with them.
