America’s worst enemy

“We have met the enemy… and he is us” …Walt Kelly

America’s greatest enemy is willful ignorance; or is that willful political correctness.

On November 5, 2009, Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan, an American Muslim of Palestinian descent, opened fire on unarmed soldiers and their families at the Fort Hood Soldier’s Readiness Processing Center. They were there to receive routine medical treatment immediately prior to and on return from deployments. The Major who was wounded during the action became paralyzed from a gunshot wound. He is currently awaiting trial by court-martial for 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder. His trial date is August 20. An additional count of murder of unborn child under the Unborn Victims of Violence Act and Article 119a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice has not been filed at this time. We can only suspect why.

Political correctness

A report released by former FBI Director William Webster blames the FBI for not acting on information about an Army officer having regular communication with known terrorists. Webster reported that the FBI looked away from a genuine threat to fellow soldiers. Did the FBI fail to act in a professional manner because they didn’t want to be seen as targeting an American Muslim?

This joker is only in second place as a threat to America. The #1 spot is held by this group:

Just an aside here. Pogo, as I recall, implied that “the enemy” was Nixon and those who supported the Vietnam War.

In mid June 1942, two teams of Nazi saboteurs landed in America. Within days, all were arrested without causing any destruction at all.
Six were eventually sentenced to death and were executed 8 August 1942 ... just SIX WEEKS after they started their mission.
Now, almost three years since the shootings, and this Islamic nut job hasn't even been to trial. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

I believe Walt Kelly's quote is a perfect description of the damage caused from the Conservatives acceptance of political correctness...it's about time we start calling people and events what they really are...

I don’t disagree with the appropriateness of the statement, only with its actual history. Why not

Treason doth never prosper.
What’s the reason?
For when it prosper
None dare call it treason.

Same idea, Conservative history.
