GOP Bigshots Wonder Why We Hate Them: Arrogant RINOs - So Far No Repub Convention Invite for Palin

What? The invitations haven't hit the post office yet? Please don't go there. Palin should have a central position and should have been on the speakers list for months. She, Congressman Allen West and Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann are the voices of conservative leaders, and Palin started it all, along with the TEA Party. Give Palin a platform for this one night. She deserves it. Conservatives deserve it. Surely there is room on the stage for Palin, along with Pawlenty, Daniels, Portman, Rice, and Jindal. We're upchucking the mountains of chicken we've been fed.  You've given us a lot of bun. Now give us some beef!

Sarah Palin has not yet received an invitation to speak at or attend the Republican National Convention this August in Tampa, Newsweek reported.

“What can I say?” Palin told Newsweek in an email. “I’m sure I’m not the only one accepting consequences for calling out both sides of the aisle for spending too much money, putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism.”

“In accepting those consequences,” she added, “one must remember this isn’t Sadie Hawkins and you don’t invite yourself and a date to the Big Dance.”

The magazine said the Romney campaign did not respond to a question about Palin’s role at the convention, but one adviser associated with Team Romney indicated that she may be prohibited from speaking under her contract with FOX News.

Palin appeared dubious, however, about that reasoning.

“It’s true I’m prohibited from doing some things,” Palin told Newsweek, “but this is the first I’ve heard anyone suggest that as an excuse, er, reason to stay away from engaging in the presidential race. I’m quite confident Fox’s top brass would never strip anyone of their First Amendment rights in this regard.” Source: NY Daily News

Still taking seemingly forever for a breakaway conservative party to materialize.

I, for one, am looking forward to it. There is no hope that the GOP will reflect our values, none.

OTOH why throw your hat in the ring, be attacked by all other candidates, when you can sit on the sideline and accept the nomination for VP at the convention, be rested, ready, reloaded and aiming.

IIRC Sarah did not endorse anyone for the primaries...Closest was Todd’s support of Newt.

SO is her lack of action an action to save her for a nomination with the eventual winner?

Can’t think of any action that would unite the right more. Left would split their gut.

Maybe we should all sent messages to the Romney campaign and demand/suggest it!

I appreciate what you say. As you know, I was never on the bandwagon much beyond Sarah’s magnificent convention speech.
It was a jolt, for me anyway, to see the nearly immediate plummet and downward spiral from magnificence to the total absence of magnificence, or even preparedness for a predictable and guaranteed media assault.

But, your initial comment wasn’t about Sarah, it was about the Left being at fault for the story. It seems to me they reported a fact. Given Palin’s own comments, she has not been invited to the convention.

Maybe she leaked this story, to tap the RINOS on the shoulder and remind them to get on the stick and initiate an invitation. Good for her if she did wrangle a story on it, which I doubt, but this a win for her.

VP AGAIN? No, the only office was President. You don't recycle VPs.

Sounds like a pox on both your houses. Sarah seems to draw a moral equivalency between both parties being equally responsible. It makes it more difficult to attend the GOP convention if that is truly her position. Why would the Reps invite her to the convention to criticize them?

Maybe the Dems can invite her to their convention to slam the GOP and then the Reps can invite her to slam the Dems.

She did say that about Condi, but in the next sentence said she would prefer someone with “respect for human life,” - that after Greta pointed out that Rice was moderately pro life.

My problem with Rice is her call as SoS for a Palestinian state without forcing Palestinians to accept Israel’s right to exist. She can be moderately pro-life but Roe v Wade isn’t changing anytime soon.

She’s not a politician she’s a commentator. She didn’t run for President. Why would anyone think she deserves to speak at the convention any more than say Rush or Gomer?

You're nuts, right? She's done more to get tea party members in congress then Romney. Romney just can't stand the thought of being upstaged by a real conservative.

LOL!

You’re right that the GOPE Romney crowd doesn’t want her doing anything at the convention but covering it from some remote location.

My complaint is that this no-invitation thing is but one more exclamation point to conservatives from the GOPE that we are OUT and the socialists and useful idiots are in.

Of course, the useful idiot crowd claiming here to be the conservative base by supporting Romney thinking they beat out Obama will be ridicule material soon after the convention.

Thanks.
