Today, the political world is abuzz over speculation that former National Security Advisor and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is the frontrunner to be named as Mitt Romneys running mate on the GOP ticket.
Rice is a talented and impressive woman, who would bring an interesting mix of experience and intellect to the ticket. After her service in the George W. Bush administration, Rice removed herself from the political spotlight and has been serving as a professor at Stanford University the last few years.

After bashing and condemning Romney from the word go why would conservatives believe they have any influence on the guy’s choice for VP?
Not pushing Condi for VP and doubt that she is interested in it that much.
I want Romney to pick a running mate not for electability but because that individual has enough experience and wisdom to be President should the need arise.
No pretty faces, empty suits, glib tongues, swing-state vote-getters. Please. Those may be pluses, but we need substance.
I agree...too soon for a female VP, especially someone from the Bush administration... and especially NOW...DON’T ROCK THE BOAT. God help us...pick Rubio please!
Leave Condaleeza Rice, right where she is.
We don’t need a Republican VP that will more than likely vote for Obama.
When I see a woman of Rice’s intelligence and age with no man and no children, and not even a dating rumor,I wonder why.
Romney specifically promised a pro-life running mate during the primaries. Selecting Rice would completely destroy 5 years of working at making himself palitable to coservates, and confirm every criticism as a flip-flopping weasel. Mitt is smart enough to know that, and therefore will keep that promise, IMHO.
I understood that she has already said no thank you very much.
Pick me, I’m real good at doing nothing!
Well, by judicious use of Ocham's Razor, I myself quit wondering. ;-)
I am not anti-feminine either ,,, I love the rogue in Sarah and would love to have her in high govt. office including President but we need to win this election and we can not afford to gamble on even odds .
Meanwhile, Santorum announced today he will be stumping for Romney...
Ahhh, Michele Bachmann, maybe? The woman is CLEARLY pro-life, no mistake about it.
And Ann Romney intimated that a female was probably under consideration. How about Susana Martinez, Governor of New Mexico? Double token there, too, and a surprising knowledgeable person as well, with a background as a prosecuting attorney for Dona Ana County, before she ran successfully for governor. She was fired by the then district attorney, then came back, ran against him, and was elected with almost 60% of the vote.
This is much ado about nothing.
Hey, get in line!
Frankly, I think Santorum is a very strong possibility, if he could deliver Penn. that would be huge.
Considering who and what Romney is why should it come as any surprise that he might pick Condi as his goto girl to reach out to the middle of the road blue dog Republicans and the black voters disenfranchised with Obummer?!
It's interesting you say this. It is my understanding that when asked who she voted for in the last election that brought us the Obamanation himself, Condi would not say who she voted for when asked by a reporter right after that election.
And to this day I still do not know just who she voted for nor have I seen it discussed anywhere. This was mentioned on the Michael Savage radio show yesterday afternoon by a conservative caller. Nothing like having a skunk in the woodpile.
Of Course there is no way to prove it, but in my heart I know who she voted for, and if it had been McCain she would have said so.
No I would place a small wager on it, and I am not a betting man. She voted for Obama, just like Colon Powell did. Blood is thicker than politics.
There’s a better than even chance that you’re right!
You forgot to mention attractive(maybe not so much now but when she was young).
