Supreme Court Ruling on Healthcare: Kevin's Perspective

Last Thursday, the Supreme Court in all their collective wisdom, ruled in the matter of the constitutionality of mandating us to buy health insurance or pay a penalty. Pretty simple and straight forward, don't you think? Well it should have been, but that's not the way it turned out. Instead of giving an up or down ruling on that question, they decided they would re interpret the whole law and state that it was a tax and not a penalty. Never mind that the Health Care Bill as passed, specifically called it a penalty and not a tax. Apparently, Chief Justice Roberts didn't want to overturn the bill, so he and the other 4 Obama butt sniffers decided they would call the penalty a tax.

This is where it gets a little complicated. The penalty was said to be Constitutional because of the commerce clause which states the federal government can regulate commerce amongst the people. Well that may be well and good, but in this case, the penalty was for not participating in commerce i.e. not buying health insurance. Those not participating in commerce where going to be forced into participating. Well, if they would have stuck to that part, this would have been a slam dunk and the whole Health Care bill would have been tossed onto the scrap heap of runaway government. Think limited government here. One would think that there must be some limit on government or why would we even have a Supreme Court.

Now I don't claim to know how these people spend their time on a day to day basis, but there appears to be some shenanigans going on here. Rumor has it that for the last month the four liberal justices got Roberts in a room away from the others on the court and did whatever it took to get him to change his vote on the ruling. Now I don't want to speculate on the "whatever it took" part of that statement in too much detail as two of those folks are of the female persuasion and aren't exactly the first two girls you would expect to see on the dance floor for the first dance of the evening at the high school prom. Probably not the last dance either. I am not sure how they react with each other personally and as a matter of fact, I really don't want to know. Especially when the gin starts to flow. I don't know if it was in fact gin, but it had to be something along those lines to get a chief justice of the Supreme Court to go off the deep end as Roberts did in this instance. This reminds me of Einstein's quote about the difference between physics and stupidity where he said, " There are limits to physics".

So now that this ruling established that this is a tax and that the government has the constitutional right to tax us for not doing what the government wants us to do, where is the limit on government? James Madison said those powers were limited primarily to external objects and named them specifically as war, peace, foreign commerce and negotiations. So what the hell is going on here? So how did the government get into health care? Are we next going to see a tax added to our grocery bill if we chose not to buy broccoli when the government decides that's what they think we should be eating? I bet the comedians are going to have a field day with this. The sad thing is that none of this is funny!

This whole fiasco is the greatest example of intellection elitism that I have ever seen. Just another bite out of lifes sh*t sandwich folks. The constitution trampled on again and this is going to continue until the American people put a stop to it. That is you if you haven't already figured it out. We all lost a lot of our rights and liberty the day this trash was heaped on the American public. A very sad state of affairs that can be partially corrected this November. It will take a continuing effort in future elections to get more people elected that truly believe in the constitution and the limited power of government as well as get rid of those that are trying to move us to a socialist/marxist state. It can be done. The hard work and sacrifice to make this happen is what the founders of this great nation require us to do.

Remember that the one right you still have, is the right to my opinion. Ok, stop the laughing.

Although I completely sympathize with the author, I also align with this statement by Claire Wolfe:

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”

Thing is, that was penned over 10 years ago. It has become clear that working within the system is a complete and utter waster of time. The question is, when are we no longer in the “awkward” stage?

Although I completely sympathize with the author, I also align with this statement by Claire Wolfe:

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”

The problem is, does anyone dare answer that question on the internet with their true feelings? Is it just that unspoken “feeling” that goes through so many men’s heart as they hold and read the constitution in one hand, and current events in the other?

The penalty was said to be Constitutional because of the commerce clause which states the federal government can regulate commerce amongst the people.

It doesn't actually say that. It refers to the States and Indian Tribes, not "people". But we live in an era of "making sh** up as we go along",
