Early one Saturday morning, 70-year old retired Air Force reservist and former state employee Joe Del Rio was awoken by a knock on his front door. It was the city of Austin’s local code enforcement team. One of the agents told Mr. Del Rio that he needed to speak to him right away.

After getting dressed Mr. Del Rio went and opened his front door. He was immediately bum rushed by the Austin Police Department’s SWAT Team and then detained and interrogated for over 10 hours.

What was this 70-year old mans crime?

It seems that the Mr. Del Rio had an underground bunker, and apparently in Austin, Texas that enough to have the SWAT team storm your home and hold you at gun point.

If this can happen in Texas it can happen anywhere in the US.

Elsewhere in Texas, we call them tornado shelters, and store canned goods and root veggies in them.

We are not a free people living in a free society. We are a managed people with government minders.

Is this true? If it is, we are at a point where even Law Enforcement in this country cannot be trusted - anywhere.

The mistake Mr. Del Rio made was when he told or showed someone else what he had built under his home.

There has got to be more to the story than that.

My gut tells me something is missing. I don’t doubt this man was wronged in a huge way and needs to be compensated generously.

But this is the stuff conspiracy is made of.

I saw video of this on TV. He is in a neighborhood and was digging under adjacent property.
The were no support structures in place, and it was in threat of collapse.
I’m not endorsing the city of Austin’s action. The man is suing to get his property back.

I’d like to know how they found out he had a bunker? If I had one, nobody would know.

The door to it would be covered with a carpet and a desk (or something else) would be placed on top. That’s how it would stay unless I were down there doing something.

While Americans were sleeping or being caught up in sports or other things, the man in the white house has been busy passing unjust laws such that the power of our government to do almost anything it wants to anybody have been put into place. It is as potentially as bad as communism.

Vote wisely this year...or else...

Well, at least they didn’t kill his dog.

BTW this Austin, a liberal fascist entity. Don’t judge the rest of Texas by it.

It’s not Texas, it was the city of Austin. While technically found IN Texas, Austin is more like Berkley, CA than anyplace else.

I would say that the man was wrong to have gone as far as his neighbour’s property line. He should have stayed well away from that.

His neighbour probably saw his yard sink and called the city about it.
