Austin Government Officials Seize Man’s Home because he had a Bunker
Off Grid Survival ^ | 5/8/12

Early one Saturday morning, 70-year old retired Air Force reservist and former state employee Joe Del Rio was awoken by a knock on his front door. It was the city of Austin’s local code enforcement team. One of the agents told Mr. Del Rio that he needed to speak to him right away.

After getting dressed Mr. Del Rio went and opened his front door. He was immediately bum rushed by the Austin Police Department’s SWAT Team and then detained and interrogated for over 10 hours.

What was this 70-year old mans crime?

It seems that the Mr. Del Rio had an underground bunker, and apparently in Austin, Texas that enough to have the SWAT team storm your home and hold you at gun point.

"..we are at a point where even Law Enforcement in this country cannot be trusted - anywhere."

Rick Perry allowed this? Don’t tell me he’s gone statist as well.

This had nothing to do with State Government. This was the City of Austin playing Nazi. Texas is conservative but Austin is as liberal as any city in California! If this really went down as described, Austin will lose their ass in court.

I suspected there was a catalyst for the invasion.

Tunelling into an adjacent property and undermining structural foundations could create some consternation among neighbors and building officials.

Still, there seems to be a radical element here that has gone way overboard.

I suspect they siezed his property because he was unable to pay the $90K to fill in the hole.

We have long since passed the point where law enforcement can be trusted unequivocally. To great extent, LEO’s at all levels have become just another street gang.

The cop is not your friend

I knew a student in grad school who imo was a Communist. Some of the other students told me his Brother was a flat out Hippie, Commune Living, Radical Marxist.

Of course he lived in Austin.

Right on the button! Probably the Justice Dept/FBI are pushing local law enforcement to “look into” people with bunkers because according to libs you are a threat.

I am saying this because I was flipping channels a little while ago and flipped past C-SPAN....and Maxine Waters was asking questions at a hearing for the FBI director. Asking why they are looking into racial groups like New Black Panthers(which are hanging around Cynthia McKinney) and not looking into Militia’s.

I've been right here since 1998. There are LEOs and LEO-connected FReepers here who can expound on how they shouldn't be painted with a broad brush.

My decades-long realization that they may all be tainted has come slow. It is only with egregious examples like this which seems to point to this being an undeniable tragedy.

Probably airborne ground penetrating radar. It's now cheap and small enough to be put on tiny drones to ID landmines. More powerful, aircraft-mounted units have been around for quite a while now, to say nothing of satellite GPR. If you have a bunker, I guarantee someone knows about it. With kooks like Napolitano on the loose, every house with a basement foundation is probably in a database somewhere by now. There are obvious implications for those who would consider burrying weapons or items of value in advance of tyranny.

On another thread, somebody said they saw a video of this and that he had dug past the property line, that’s where I got that information from.

Unless it’s really important to question, I tend to take things at face value.

The real story will be forthcoming, now that this version has gone viral, but this story ain’t it, as they say.

Go to the pix in the link of post #11, a picture is worth a thousand words.

In pic#16 the caption mentions “east town lake citizens neighborhood association”

There is WAY more to this....

Rick Perry allowed this?

Yes! In Texas, every local police action -- even traffic stops -- must be cleared with the governor's office before it can proceed.

Well if somebody called in about their yard sinking, that’s a horse of a different shade. But rest assured that buried structures are not hidden from any entity with access to airborne gpr.

You want the framework behind everything Obama is doing?

Freedom From War, Publication 7277, State Dept. 1961.

Reducing nuke stockpile. Internal security forces - ie "we need a civilian military AS STRONG as ou military". Militarizing the police (SWAT). Cutting regular military down - a sizeable part of which is operating under UN command or fulfilling UN objectives. Disarming citizens. The latest UN small arms treaty crap. Destroying the last superpower by killing the economy and creating economic crises by printing money like water. Getting ready to Cyprus our 401k's into "government bonds" and private bank savings into "stock/equity in the bank" your money's in - worse than FDIC-insured. Not far fetched as he hates America, walked around for months with the Post-America book he was reading, has all national intelligence assets looking at anyone who is "anti-government" (anti-Obama) as a threat. (And in case you didn't know, Freedom From War, the UN treaties do not allow civillians to remain armed - which means confiscation, by force if necessary.)

Do not think they will not take your supplies as well, as these emergency orders will also allow them to take any of your property they need. Once they disarm you it won't be hard.

This is what it's all about. In its "Second Annual Report to Congress" (February 1963), the ACDA presented a simple graphic depiction (see top of next page) demonstrating its proposed three-stage disarmament process:

U.S. THREE-STAGE DISARMAMENT PLAN
