Images from Dallas - Ft Worth Airport

There's a group of very special ladies in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area who make 'neck pillows' for soldiers coming through Dallas Fort Worth airport. They head up there and meet the incoming planes every single week just to greet the soldiers who are returning home for a few weeks of R-n-R.

These patriotic Texas women give them a pillow, let the troops know that they pray for them, then thank them for their service. And one of these wonderful ladies took the following pictures... she noted that everyone was quite surprised to see George and Laura Bush suddenly standing quietly in the waiting area with others who come to meet the troop planes.... no hoopla, no show.  She also remarked that it was amazing to watch the faces of the soldiers light up in recognition when they spotted the Bushes, and that many came over to speak and shake their hands... Bush greeting troops

And tell me again the name of that disingenuous p.o.s in the White House that still badmouths this man at every available opportunity... what a schmuck.

I always thought Bush was kinda cute. I can’t understand why Libs compared him to an ape.
And Laura..still beautiful.

Looks like re-posts of pix from a previous FR thread. None the less, they are great and shows how a REAL president feels about the troops. Wonder if ole jug ears will do the same once he’s booted from the Oval Office.

As an aside, does anyone notice former Dallas Cowboy fullback Darryl Johnston standing behind Laura Bush in several of photos?

The DFW Airport is no longer used for the returning military, happened in Jan 2012, unless it has been changed since then. They now fly into Atlanta. Don’t think Pres. Bush will be there as often as he was in Dallas. Good way to stop his greeting the military.

I think President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush have enough financial resources to be able to meet and welcome home our troops no matter WHERE they come in.

And BTW...doesn’t President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush have that wonderful, patriotic, love of country and God bless our troops and the American Citizens ring to it?

What a joyous time it will be when we can once again look up to a President who loves his country and it’s people. Don’t despair folks...our country will survive and the wrong done to it can be reversed. Have faith!!!

For those of us who can’t spend 24/7 on FR, reposts like this are more than welcomed, otherwise we might have missed these great photographs.

Yes this is from Aug 11, 2010 when President Bush and the First Lady met the incoming troops. Never the less it great to see the photos again.

The following is a youtube of the event showing the "Shower of Affection" for the troops as the plane taxis in with two fire trucks welcoming it with a spray of water as the plane taxis between. Then it shows the troops debarking and being greeted the President.

Conservatives will never be able to claim proper control of this nation until they admit to the great presidency of George w bush. The sly sell out among faux conservatives portraying this great leader as comparable to the same descriptions offered by Obama and his supporters is a national disgrace.

Democrats rose to power in a landslide in January 2007. That congressional sweep deregulated Fannie mae and sent 6 trillion in home values down the tubes.

Even TARP was a rare instance of conservative governance yet thoroughly repudiated by faux conservatives.

TARP required money to be paid back and with interest. The $350 billion expended by bush has been paid back with interest and spent six fold by anti conservatives. Almost no other spending of congress ever did such a fiscally responsible thing.

Until conservatives are willing to defend their own like bush and palin they will wander the political desert.

Click the following link for a great youtube of the event. It’s worth the 7 minutes it takes, imo. I missed it orginally but was looking for the event online and found it as a result of this thread being posted.

I had my issues with him like most of us...but he never faltered in this area and I think he indeed felt the wounds of his troops

very empathetic about it

you can just tell they are graceful folks

Look, I didn’t understand a lot of the statist things bush was into, like amnesty, but this gives me goosebumps.

A former President with class and grace, who understands service, sacrifice, and noblesse oblige.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for former President Obama to do any decent act quietly. If at all.
