It looks as if the Republican nomination has been decided. Rick Santorum decided it yesterday when he dropped out (officially “suspended”) his campaign.
That means Republicans will have succeeded in nominating Mitt McCann twice in a row. That is to say, the mushy middle, Rhino in Republican clothing, Mitt Romney is virtually indistinguishable from 2008′s nominee, John McCain. All that is left is to see how rapidly Romney dashes to the middle, as if that positioning will work. He ought to check the record. It failed miserably for McCann. . .

It is now a two man race. The “kook” romney who wears magic underwear and is a socialist and the father of government health care or the “thinker in chief”—Doctor Ron Paul. At least my vote will count in our primary!!
Of the remaining primaries left voters in those states can still vote for Santorum and his delegates. If they carry (win) in that respective district they are seated and still pledgd to him for the 1st vote.

Rush made an interesting point today. The GOP elites formative years are based on the Goldwater loss. In their minds, putting forward a conservative = loss.
What they need is a new lesson.
What they need to learn is that putting forward a moderate = landslide loss.

Santorum is a bad debater and would lose to Obama before election day. Santorum is one of those guys I would love to have as President (despite my lack of trust in the man) but getting there is the problem.
