Hogan Gidley, National Communications Director, said: "Rick and his wife Karen have taken their daughter Bella to the hospital. The family requests prayers and privacy as Bella works her way to recovery."
Bella is safe in the loving arms of Jesus - prayers for her recovery.
Heartfelt prayers for this wonderful family.
Certainly will be praying for baby Bella and her busy family.
What a lovely picture of Rick and Bella.
With other choices for a job, how DOES he leave that darling creation? I will never get it.
And does she love her Daddy or what?

There are many Santorums to look after Bella. And he sees her more often than you think.
Rick is running not for political gain like the opportunist Romney but to help make this country a better, freer place for Bella and all of our children and grandchildren.
She’s a cutie and what a lovely picture. He is an honorable man for caring for the weakest among us. A good parent! I pray she recovers. This family must be under such stress with her ongoing health issues and the grind of the primary process.

His wife has been with him on the campaign trail and he is home with his family right now. He’s no different than a man who has a job that requires his travelling for a living. I’m sure he spends quite a lot of time with his little girl. If he doesn’t, then that’s really his business.

This has nothing to do with Rick or anybody else. It has to do with a husband and father who should be home giving support to his wife and daughter...especially his wife...above political aspirations. I am talking about his being there with his wife for support. Period.

We support the same guy. Heck Antonius and Lazlo know I work for Newt and still they keep me on the Santorum ping list, but that wasn’t appropriate at all.

My response to little Bella’s crisis speaks for itself up thread ( #5 ) with sincere concerns for her health and well being.
To wonder how a father DOES this, with such a chronically ill baby who is reportedly destined for a short life, is not an extraordinary question on a thread about Bella.
In fact, your prickly reactions may say you have wondered the same thing. Who wouldn’t?
The injection of the political came with the claim that Santorum was not an “opportunist”, and then waxed poetic on why Rick was running for president.
Quite apart from Bella’s critical illness, to believe that Santorum is not a political opportunist I found astounding and simply said so, at #16.
I would say save the Jezebel business and the coal hearted hysterics for the delegates who will soon be placing Rick back in the home, with hopefully a job near by, for Bella’s sake as well as the country.
Meanwhile, maybe a good idea would be to drop the harrumphing and return to your prayerful thread?

My entry into this thread came in response to post 12, which was pulled by the mods and restated by the poster, which called Santorum a 'jerk' and who later compared him to "the Kenyan bastard".
Inappropriate on a thread regarding the health of his daughter. There are threads all over Free Republic where people can trash Santorum to their heart's content. This shouldn't be one of them.
