Really? Come on, this is a 17 year old kid with no history of violence who was likely shot because of a tragic misunderstanding.

This was a 17-year-old kid who got shot because he was beating the hell out of a neighborhood watch captain who had merely asked what he was doing.

He may or may not have had a prior history of such violence, but there can be little doubt he was a wannabe! E.g., have a look at his Twitter account. Here is the inspiring background picture he chose to set the tone for visitors to his Twitter page:

That's the mug shot of rapper Corey Miller, aka C-Murder, who is doing life without parole for beating up and shooting to death 16-year-old Steve Thomas in 2002 at a night club in Harvey, Louisiana. Quite the hero for Trayvon to worship!

We should all thank George Zimmerman for taking out the garbage!

However, the fact remains that we should do everything possible to judge this case on its individual merits, aside from any political/racial issues.

The courts are the place for deciding cases of possible criminal actions on their merits. Political/racial social issues are most decidedly in the public domain. You've got things bass ackwards.

Well, if a lot of people in that situation would strike first, then a lot of people deserve to get shot. End of story.

You can’t deliver an unprovoked beating on somebody who has been following you just because you don’t like the looks of them.

Well, I guess you can, but if you end up shot then you get what you deserve.

That is because you foolishly think this is about Martin and justice. This is as I said in another post about ginning up the base and keeping political power. The people doing this are merely using Martin. They care not a whit about him. In that battle, who Martin really is matters. They are implying he was this nice kid attack by an evil white guy. So the truth about who Martin is matters in this public discourse.

Now if we end up on a jury together deciding this case, nothing about either Martin’s or Zimmerman’s past matters. All that matters is the evidence. But we are not in that courtroom now. The political theatre is important too.

Six years ago when I had an insomniac night, I was looking out our back window at the street that runs along the ridge about 100 yds. away and uphill. It is lit by streetlights so I had an excellent view.

A vehicle pulled up and idled under the street light. Three people, all dressed in black with hoodies got out and ran in three different directions. Knowing how odd it was, I telephoned the police. In about ten minutes the three people were back, in the vehicle, which then left the area. Twenty minutes later the cops showed up.

Later I discovered a city-wide “treasure hunt” for clues had been sponsored that night by one of the high schools.

Dressing in black was a dumb idea. The cops later said they were run ragged that night. The high school never did another.

Going by the transcripts of the phone call Zimmerman followed Martin when he ran. Zimmerman lost Martin. Therefore, Martin was in no danger. He could have just walked home. It looks like he turned around and pursued Zimmerman as he was on his way back to his truck.

If you just throw a punch at someone because you feel threatened because they were following you then you deserve what you get right up to getting shot. That's emotionally unstable.

I refuse to play because this is not a game. This is not white vs. black. This is simply a case of an unarmed 17 year old being shot to death. Whether or not you believe Zimmerman was defending himself, there is absolutely no need to portray Martin as a thug. I am clicking the X in the right hand corner of my screen as soon as I click post. Yes I am.

The incident between Zimmerman and Martin is not the only thing that is happening. If it was we wouldn't be talking about it and there wouldn't be any threads about it. This is about the race-baiting story the race pimps and the media have made out of it.

You can divorce yourself from that reality if you want to but it's still the reality of what is happening. They are having marches about this in Oakland CA for crying out loud so you can't credibly say this is only about what happened that night.

If they were fighting over the gun, it is anyone’s guess who would have got control of the gun and shot the other. It was a fight to kill or be killed. In this case, Zimmerman got control and shot Martin before he could take the gun away from him with deadly consequences. If this happened, Florida’s “stand your ground” doctrine does not even apply here. It is self-defense, pure and simple.
