President Barack Obama on Wednesday dismissed oil as "the fuel of the past" as he made an unapologetic election-year pitch for his alternative energy industry policies and sniped at Republicans over painfully high gasoline prices.
"They get out on the campaign trail—and you and I both know there are no quick fixes to this problem—but listening to them, you'd think there were," he said at a Daimler Truck manufacturing plant in the battleground state of North Carolina.
Obama said that because the United States accounts for 20 percent of the world's consumption of oil but has only 2 percent of its petroleum reserves, "we're not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices. Anybody who tells you otherwise either doesn't know what they're talking about or they aren't telling you the truth."
"Here is the truth. If we are going to control our energy future, then we've got to have an all-of-the-above strategy," he said in his speech. "We've got to develop every source of American energy—not just oil and gas, but wind power and solar power, nuclear power, biofuels."

Notice that they are drilling for oil in the Cuba area. With horizontal drilling techniques they will soon be tapping into our oil supply, but Bambi doesn’t care.

1) Every one of his alternative energy source products requires PLASTIC, which is made from oil. When oil goes up, so does the cost of alternative energy.
2) EVERY POTUS can immediately lower the price of oil and gasoline simply by making a 100% positive-market announcement. Obama knows full well we don't need new exploration permits; we need new DRILLING permits and his adminsitration has blocked every one, including several already approved by Bush's DOE. All he'd have to do is say: "We're reversing course on Keystone, we're granting Shell that drilling permit and we're going to grant more drilling permits.
The next day, the price of oil and gas would fall. Markets are subject to psy-ops. If the POTUS sends a strong signal that we're ready to do whatever it takes, the markets will respond.
Every item including the people were delivered by fuel.
If he really meant that the would immediately order that Marine One and Air Force One be retrofitted to run on bio-fuels.
Why should it work for energy? It's not working as a political appointment strategy...

This includes what is used now. Not from shale oil, undiscovered or protected-area oil fields, or undeveloped resources. We are the Saudi Arabia of coal and have truly vast natural gas resources that remain untapped, from under the Great Lakes down to the beds under Utah that were set aside by Bill Clinton.
0bama’s figures are therefore bogus on their face. It is not that we have 2% of the oil reserves in toto, let alone what we can recover using newer technologies, but rather that we have 2.4% of the oil reserves currently being used.

...delivered more than once I might add. From raw materials to finished products, we are dependent on fuel from oil until there is a deliverable replacement that is usable, affordable and available as gasoline is today, watch for it.

Well, Obama thinks that oil is the fuel of the past in the US, but he’s ok with selling it to the Chinese. The Chinese have bought major shares in several US energy firms and have purchased shale oil and gas leases on both coasts and in the Gulf of Mexico.
Obama also supports selling sub-bituminous coal to the Chinese.
