I spent more than 3 years assigned to JTTF shortly after 9/11. I can’t think of one case that didn’t involve a home grown terrorist as a suspect. Contrary to what Janet Neapolitan says. All were arab/muslim descent. Most had entered the US as students and either did not show up for school or left shortly after registering. Many of them were involved with US citizens in sham marriages hoping to naturalize before their actual intent was discovered.
