I agree that the characteristics of Nazi Germany began much before Hitler. Many do go back to Bismarck, father of the modern social welfare state.

But the comparison of the modern US to Nazi Germany is no less valid because of that. The history of the governmental changes just shows how easy it is to slip from “benign” social welfare statism to totalitarianism.

Put another way, how easy it is to turn the heat on to “boil” once you have the frogs used to warm water.

Absolutely. If you'd had Obama or the Algore or any number of other Democrat big dogs running Weimar no one would know the difference.

Scary but definitely see the parallels. Don’t forget, many employers especailly large companies are getting much more nosy on what you do on your own time. Do you do things like smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol or smoke pot ? What do you drive ? Do you ride a motorcycle than you are looked down on or punished with special company medical insurance rates.

One thing this article crystalized for me is the possibility of “mandatory, therapeutic” abortion, if Obamacare goes unchecked.

We have seen the ‘Rats reaction to Sarah Palin’s baby, that they have said should have been aborted. Why should the “government” have to pay extra for a child with a deformity or other condition that, after birth, will have extra medical costs? It’s a very short, easy step from requiring everyone to have abortion coverage to requiring a pregnant mother to have an abortion or lose all healthcare “benefits” or pay a fine if “the Secretary” deems the foetus too costly if born alive.

As you can see from my Tagline, this is what I expect the ‘Rats to do.

You might want to check your facts. Abortion was legal under the Weimar Constitution. The Nazis made abortion illegal. Private gun ownership was illegal under the Weimar Constitution also.

I’ve seen a lot of people use that phrase or a variation thereof – usually original is enough to set them off, as though the word “National” somehow modifies the meaning of the word “Socialist”.

Socialism is Socialism no matter if you put National in front of it or not.

But try some these variations I’ve seen around web:

Socialist National Media

Socialists in the National Democratic Party

Democratic National Socialist Committee.

Obummer’s National agenda of Socialism.

Mixing around the words sometimes catches them off guard and they let it go right past them.

Or better yet, use a variation like Socialist National platform and see them get all indigent over it and then realize it’s not the same thing as National Socialist…

We have the moral high ground with teh Constitution, and it’s a hill worth dying on, but our side won’t win if we don’t fight back. Obama is using a slower version of Hugo CHavez’s formual: push the limits, and when you are not stopped, go another step. The process accelerates as you know. It’s time to throw stops, or get steamrolled.
