Tea Party! Demand Marco Rubio tell Mitt to pull ad (Or does Rubio only speak up for Mitt?)
January 29, 2012 | Vanity

Posted on 01/29/2012 4:06:20 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Will the Tea Party be asking (demanding!) that Senator Marco Rubio (VERY PUBLICLY) ask Mitt Romney's campaign to shut down their "Tom Brokaw" ad -- in light of the fact that when Sen. Rubio VERY PUBLICLY inserted himself in the Florida GOP Primary battle, Newt Gingrich pulled that Romney ad ?

Does the Mitt Romney ad of a 14 year old NBC news lead story about Newt Gingrich (charges he was cleared of) offend Sen. Rubio or will he sit silent?

Is Sen. Rubio merely an "immigrant issue" politician or is he a fair representative of ALL Floridians?

NBC has asked that this ad be stopped and Romeny's camp is refusing. Time to find out where Rubio stands with the Tea Party.

Even the National Review is asking questions about this attack ad.

On Ethics Charges, ‘Gingrich Was Exonerated’ "Mitt Romney has been attacking Newt Gingrich for alleged ethics violations during his tenure as speaker of the House. But as Byron York writes, the Gingrich ethics scandal was a product of vindictive partisan politics, it was inflamed by a complicit press corps, and it resulted (with little press coverage) in the Clinton-era IRS’s exoneration of Gingrich."......

Now the Romney camp is demanding all the raw files be released (everything else is public record) -- unsubstantiated interviews that are NEVER released -- and Mitt Romney knows this.

My feeling is that Rubio (who officially decided not to endorse) is really a Romney supporter-and a RINO (for this and other positions).

I'm not sure how it will play tactically, but on a longer time horizon, I think Romney's use of that NBC footage will do damage to whatever credibility NBC and Romney have left after lying for years.

Here's Brokaw, in 1997, propagandizing or politicizing current events that are later shown to be trumped up. So, why should people believe today's news, when time may well show it to be trumped up?

And Romney is rejecting NBC's request - how thoughtful and gracious (NOT) of him.

The ad that Newt pulled was on the subject of immigration, and I noticed that during the last debate he stuck by the contention made in the ad. No harm in pulling it, and he likely thought Rubio was a source of good tactical advice - especially on that subject.

On the subject of Newt's 1997 record, Rubio is a total outsider, and should keep his yap shut. Let Romney hang himself.

Be very suspicious of any politician who is supporting Romney. They are or have signed on with the Political Washington Establishment Elite. Another one of those is McDonnell, gov. of Virginia.

Just did. Let us all hold Rubio accountable - is he really fair? Or is he a closet Romney supporter (too chicken to publicly aknowledge it to be on the safe side?)

“Fair and Balanced” is out the window at Fox News.

I just listened to the 7:15 AM segment where an interview was done to slam Gingrich’s use of “food stamp” president — AND his use of “left wing talking points” in his new anti-Romney ad.

NOT ONE mention was made by the hosts about Romney’s controversial “Tom Browak” attack ad on Newt that has been running since Friday in Florida.

Actually NOT ONE mention of Romney at all. It was exclusively a “Gingrich is screwing up” segment as Fox News supports Romney in the GOP Primary election.

Not really.

Jan 28, 2012: Cuban-American Leader: Huge Push for Newt Over Mitt "Carlos Perez, one of Ronald Reagan's closest Miami advisers and a Radio Mambi talk host who is influential in Florida's Cuban-American community, says there is growing resentment among Hispanics due to “lies and distortions” from GOP candidate Mitt Romney targeting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Perez told Newsmax in an exclusive interview Saturday afternoon that a backlash is brewing against the Romney campaign’s allegation that Gingrich tried to undermine former President Ronald Reagan’s agenda.

Perez was a close adviser to President Reagan, and Reagan even acknowledged his Cuban-American friend's achievement during a State of the Union address.

“Among Cuban-Americans, you can bet your life Newt Gingrich will win the primary election,” Perez flatly predicted.

Perez, host of a popular Miami radio and television show, said Hispanic voters and especially Cuban-Americans are now “backing Newt Gingrich dramatically” and “getting a little bit mad at the Romney campaign.”

Perez endorsed Gingrich’s presidential bid on Monday. On Saturday, he told Newsmax that the buzz in the Cuban-American community has turned strongly pro-Gingrich."...............

This is why the Tea Party is so angry.

They support these politicians and then, once in office (like Nikki Haley), they turn around and support the politicians WE WANT TO get rid of!

IT IS TIME to stop this.

Rubio needs to be fair or we need to know why. Make him an example by blasting his email account.

He won because conservatives came to his side and battled for him.

The on-air "talent" (pretty and handsome news reader parrots) of Fox News get the majority of their "wisdom" and conclusion from GOP insiders such as Dana Perino and Karl Rove.

To expect the "talent" to give an objectively fair shake is just unrealistic.

Why would he? He asked Newt to pull his ad because it was a lie. Newt had ethics problems and the Brokaw story was accurate. Now Brokaw was having orgasims at the time because he had Newt dead to rights but he now doesn’t want the one guy who can beat Obama to use his tape. Too bad Tom. You and the rest of the Obama lovers won’t get this ad pulled!

Sounds like you support Mitt.

Bad move.

As to the ad and the charges, uh, dude or dudette, Newt was exonnerated on all the trumped up charges and that is a matter of record.

Mitt Romney is cynically going after the older voters with this “Brokaw” ad — They watched Tom Brokaw for years and this is to influence Florida’s aging voter demographic. Tell them they’re being had. Remind them Newt was exonerated of these charges!

If Romney loses, maybe we can let Rubio, Fox news, Drudge, Limbaugh and all other former conservative Romney supporters off the hook. But we should never think of them as honest conservatives.

If Romney doesn’t lose (gag), I say they all should pay with total loss of their Tea Party audience.

This is done every election by the Democrats...usually telling them the Republicans want to take away their SS.

I’m not dissing people in nursing homes...dear family members of mine have lived in them before passing away...I’m just speaking the truth...these tactics are used among the most frail in mind and or body even in nursing homes, by DEMOCRATS...

So imagine the stench coming from the Romney campaign for using tactics that are aimed squarely at these folks, to dupe them into voting...not FOR Romney...but AGAINST Newt...

All based on a massive LIE.
