..."It doesn't surprise me but it's again -- the president's focused more on the next election than on the next generation.
"Getting this country independent of foreign sources of crude from countries that are not our friends is really problematic. So this Canadian oil, there's a possibility we could lose it to China with that decision so I hope Americans will really become unhinged with that decision because it is a really bad decision for our country, for energy independence and sends a horrible message at a time that were headed to $4 and $5 oil or excuse me $4 or $5 gasoline, to have a neighbor who's willing to sell us crude that is available."

The Perry Economic Plan: Cut, Balance and Grow
[snip] Dynamic Tax Score for RickPerry.org, Inc. Proposal:
Based on the higher GDP estimates forecast by the dynamic scoring exercise, the Perry proposal will not only lead to an increase in overall economic activity and jobs, but will also lead to higher federal revenues in the long term. In fact, the analysis suggests that revenues could be as much as $406.8 billion higher than under the static model by 2020, and could be as high as 19.5 percent of GDP.
The dynamic score of the proposal suggests that lower flatter taxes could generate both more revenue than the current tax code, and significantly more economic growth over time. With increasing demands on the Federal government from growing entitlements, higher pension expenses and interest on the debt, it will be necessary to increase the size of the economy and the tax base in order to generate significantly higher revenues. Table 7 shows how the Perry proposals would do this over a seven year period. [snip] Tax Proposal Score PDF

—Americans should be ‘unhinged’ by decision to reject Keystone pipe path—
I think those paying attention pretty much are.
Too bad the “paying attention” section is so small.
—Too bad the paying attention section is so small.—
Why do you think Obama is president?
I feel like a Jew in early 30’s Germany.
Hey, it was reported today that 48% think Osama is doing a wonderful job. We are doomed.
Obama doesn't know what the hell to do with Newt...but you can be sure Obama is plotting....and it's dirty.
That number was once in the 60s who thought so.
There is hope.
The problem is that Romney is beginning to pull away in polls among Republican primary voters...
He appears to be strengthening. The non Romneys appear to be weakening...whether individually or as a group.
And no, that is not Rick Perry’s fault nor his supporters fault.
I thought Gov. Perry did great in Monday’s debate. I wouldn’t mind seeing him surge.
Hell, he's even run a campaign against David Axelrod and won.
Currently our redistricting map here in Texas is tied up in the Supreme Court (this will bump Texas out of the Super Tuesday vote) and our Photo Voter ID Bill is sitting on Eric Holder's desk, awaiting his approval.
Add approval of the Keystone project to your day 1 list !
Even the unions are pissed about this...enough to be running radio ads about it.
The country would have a reprieve if Perry could get a foothold and battle Obama and then the K-Street-Wall Street gang. It would be something. But that is why he has been alternately attacked and ignored — the powers that be are not going to give that control up without a knock-down, drag-out battle.
Santorum does not have a good conservative voting record and yet both are polling better than Perry. I don't get it.
We say we want another Reagan and yet we're rejecting him.
And I think it will end as badly for us as it did for the Jews in Germany if it goes any longer than this year.
Sadly, I think the die is cast and the course set is not reversible without disaster. We are headed for the big rocks now.
Of the current field of pubbies only Gingrich understands how critical the situation really is and only with the help of an excellent VP and a willing congress can any of his ideas be executed to completion in time to do any good.
“I feel like a Jew in early 30s Germany”.
...great analogy! I’m sure it was a tad worse for a Jew in the 30’s but we’re getting there.
Tyrants usually speak ahead of time about their intentions.

It's sunset in America with the leadership we now have. "Leadership" in our party sit on their hands not endorsing the strongest candidate, the governor of Texas who has the platform and the record. I guess the Party has no time for conservatives.
The answer is to ignore the media - they can have all the dirt they want - screw’m - we just don’t listen - whether it’s true or not! Voters react to what they hear - we can see it in the polls - it’s nuts! mitt with his lying ads and the candidate drops accordingly. They are using voters as fiddles. They must be laughing their butts off! Probably taking bets on the side.
January 13, 2011 West Virginia: Agency Revokes Permit for Major Coal Mining Project WASHINGTON The Environmental Protection Agency revoked the permit for one of the nations largest mountaintop-removal coal mining projects on Thursday, saying the mine would have done unacceptable damage to rivers, wildlife and communities in West Virginia. It was the first time the agency had rescinded a valid clean water permit for a coal mine. .

I’m not blaming it on leadership. I’m blaming it on the voters. All of us have the opportunity to vote for him, yet for some reason they choose to ignore the opportunity they have before them.
Romneys Troubling Appointments (Mitt's environmental policy team now works for Obama) ."EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has taken most of the fire from Republicans as her agency rolls out a slew of controversial new climate and clean air rules. But [Gina] McCarthy, the EPA assistant administrator of the Office of Air and Radiation, has taken on much of the heavy lifting of writing, structuring, and implementing the rules.
Lisas the coach and Ginas the quarterback in the work of rolling out new clean air regulations, said Daniel Weiss, an energy and climate policy expert at the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank with close ties to the Obama administration. Shes running the plays, improvising on the line.
Another Romney environmental adviser in the effort to regulate greenhouse gases is now Obamas Director of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren. Dr. Holdren has some exotic views:
..
You know, the IMPORTANT things.
Well that's easy. We vote for the debating champion. Real substance is not really a factor anymore!
Good hair and a smile are very important; substance much further down the list.

"Another new measure made tightening air quality permits on the oil and gas industry more difficult. That law, which Perry signed in June, requires the Texas environmental agency to analyze the effect of new regulation on the economy - including how it might hurt a company - before implementation. The economic impact could override the environmental benefit of the new regulation. The new law reflects Perry's contention that global warming is a questionable theory and that regulation always creates an adverse business climate." Perry Slashed Environmental Enforcement in Texas

Dec 30, 2011: Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Court Order to Stay Cross State Air Pollution Rule Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision to grant Texas' request for a stay to the Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) Cross State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR):
"Todays court decision to stay the implementation of the CSAPR is a preliminary step in the right direction to end the job-killing mandates passed down by the Obama Administration and the unelected bureaucrats at the EPA. The court was right to stay this highly flawed, job-killing rule that was based on inaccurate and incomplete information. Texas will now have a chance to discuss the devastating impact that this rule will have on our state's economy and electric reliability an opportunity that we were not given by the Obama Administrations out of control EPA when they adopted the rule."
Yes. The frogs in the warming “hot tub” are content.
Now that would be a great spoof video to do. Use the Reagan ad as a template; but everything is the opposite in the spoof video with Obama as the star.
“It's sunset in America.”
“Too bad the paying attention section is so small.”
Well, from what I’m picking up, the only thing that really matters is stopping Romney, so they’ll vote Newt because he doesn’t need a teleprompter. It was he who allowed the Conservative agenda to come to a screeching halt when he was compromised and potentially blackmailed, by Clinton. They became friends. Today news says Clinton says there is absolutely no difference between Romney and Newt. But real issues like the the pipeline and jobs and the economy? Can we just move along? Governor Perry is just so, you know.
Qualified.
“Qualified.”
Oh. Were we looking for someone like that?
Some of us were.
Silly, huh?
Now, if it's true that Republicans select their candidate based on who ran before and whose turn it is now, then we're looking at our NEXT nominee, as well as our current one.
That pretty much describes how I feel too. I have a sinking feeling of deja vu, reliving 2008 all over again. Accelerating and pressing on even harder now to finish my survival prep, it's going to be a rough ride.
Glad I'm old and got to live my youth back in the good ol' USA - I'm afraid I won't live long enough to see those days again.
I feel like a Jew in early 30s Germany.
I actually coined that phrase in the early 1990’s. People do not fully grasp that, though the Jews had no say in things, much of the world heralded what Adolf was doing for his nation and pulling it out of the pit in which it found itself.
But the Jews had no say, and this, as time marched on, escelated, culminating in the great evil we are all aware of today.
Interestingly, though, Stalin killed more Jews than did Hitler.
But I digress. What I noticed in the 90’s and is screamingly obvious today, is that I am completely out of touch with American culture. It was only exacerbated by my eliminating TV from my life in 1997.
But it has given me clarity. It is why, in 2008, I bought a small farm in rural Kentucky and, in 2010, moved there from my home of 45 years, Seattle. It doesn’t guarantee safety, but it mitigates the risk. And it really will get VERY ugly this year and almost certainly throw the world into a very nasty hot war.
Just like the seemingly benign early 30’s Hitler eventually did.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

I guess this is where the historians come in. Maybe things are no worse now than 100 years ago or some other time frame.
Like Twinkies and Ding Dongs going bankrupt. Hey, did Zero bail them out too?
Rush just went into this in some detail and quoted Perry at length.
Oh, yeah, Obama hates and fears Rick Perry because he knows Rick Perry will fight him.
He’s one of the few who’s already done so.
I wish people would wake up and realize that Perry is the candidate we should be rallying around. This is exactly what Perry needs to continue doing. Attack obama. Rise above the fray of the other infighting. Come across as the statesman and three term governor that he is.
I truly believe that. It’s a vast left wing conspiracy.
Really.
If Perry could somehow move past Santorum in SC, he would have a clear road ahead.
I just heard Hannity say that Rick Perry is going to be on his radio show “later” and that Karl Rove also will be on today to help “sort it all out”......... as in, kick Perry in the balls again. Nice going Sean. Nice going Karl. [scorn ahead of their Hannity-Rove act that isn’t fooling anyone]
Hannity is a worthless suckup.
Yes. He certainly is — sad he’s lost his roots.
I agree with all you just said.
Rick Perry would never ever stop this pipeline. He has spokenn of how important drilling is in his plans. Perry would fix everything if people would just wake up and see he is the only conservative to vote for.
Perry needs to call a press conference and blast Obama. He needs to do something to get attention on this issue and it could create the surge he needs!
Perry is the only Washington outsider I trust to reduce the size and intrusion of big government!
If he was president, Perry would have approved the pipeline in a heartbeat!
