Rick Perry: Americans should be 'unhinged' by decision to reject Keystone pipe path
Fox News ^ | January 18, 2012 | Nick Kalman

..."It doesn't surprise me but it's again -- the president's focused more on the next election than on the next generation.

"Getting this country independent of foreign sources of crude from countries that are not our friends is really problematic. So this Canadian oil, there's a possibility we could lose it to China with that decision so I hope Americans will really become unhinged with that decision because it is a really bad decision for our country, for energy independence and sends a horrible message at a time that were headed to $4 and $5 oil or excuse me $4 or $5 gasoline, to have a neighbor who's willing to sell us crude that is available."

I’m not blaming it on leadership. I’m blaming it on the voters. All of us have the opportunity to vote for him, yet for some reason they choose to ignore the opportunity they have before them.

I blame the voters too. But they've been taught to be followers -- and the leadership sits silent.

Romney’s Troubling Appointments (Mitt's environmental policy team now works for Obama) …………….“"EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has taken most of the fire from Republicans as her agency rolls out a slew of controversial new climate and clean air rules. But [Gina] McCarthy, the EPA assistant administrator of the Office of Air and Radiation, has taken on much of the heavy lifting of writing, structuring, and implementing the rules.

“Lisa’s the coach and Gina’s the quarterback” in the work of rolling out new clean air regulations, said Daniel Weiss, an energy and climate policy expert at the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank with close ties to the Obama administration. “She’s running the plays, improvising on the line.”

Another Romney environmental adviser in the effort to regulate “greenhouse gases” is now Obama’s Director of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren. Dr. Holdren has some exotic views: …………..

How does Perry expect Americans to pay attention to things like the economy, jobs, energy, taxes, etc,etc,etc... When we have more important things to worry about, like, who will win American Idol, The Kardashians, sports events, ATM fees, etc,etc,etc...

You know, the IMPORTANT things.

” I don't get it.”

Well that's easy. We vote for the debating champion. Real substance is not really a factor anymore!

Good hair and a smile are very important; substance much further down the list.

Rick Perry’s Air War (with the EPA) “…..Texas alone opted for the unfriendly approach. It’s the only state that did not issue a plan for compliance—and Perry has made it clear that Texas has no intention of complying. The move was a blatant slap to the Obama administration—and once again gave Perry the national spotlight. Defying the climate rules offered him the perfect opportunity to loudly decry the science of global warming—which in his book Fed Up! he calls a “contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight”—and to slam EPA as a “rogue agency” with an “activist mind-set” that has “targeted Texas.” Such rhetoric is viral catnip to the tea party voters who could help catapult Perry to the 2012 presidential nomination…”

"Another new measure made tightening air quality permits on the oil and gas industry more difficult. That law, which Perry signed in June, requires the Texas environmental agency to analyze the effect of new regulation on the economy - including how it might hurt a company - before implementation. The economic impact could override the environmental benefit of the new regulation. The new law reflects Perry's contention that global warming is a questionable theory and that regulation always creates an adverse business climate." Perry Slashed Environmental Enforcement in Texas

Dec 30, 2011: Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Court Order to Stay Cross State Air Pollution Rule “Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals' decision to grant Texas' request for a stay to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Cross State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR):

"Today’s court decision to stay the implementation of the CSAPR is a preliminary step in the right direction to end the job-killing mandates passed down by the Obama Administration and the unelected bureaucrats at the EPA. The court was right to stay this highly flawed, job-killing rule that was based on inaccurate and incomplete information. Texas will now have a chance to discuss the devastating impact that this rule will have on our state's economy and electric reliability – an opportunity that we were not given by the Obama Administration’s out of control EPA when they adopted the rule."

“It's sunset in America with the leadership we now have.”

Now that would be a great spoof video to do. Use the Reagan ad as a template; but everything is the opposite in the spoof video with Obama as the star.

“It's sunset in America.”

“Too bad the “paying attention” section is so small.”

Well, from what I’m picking up, the only thing that really matters is stopping Romney, so they’ll vote Newt because he doesn’t need a teleprompter. It was he who allowed the Conservative agenda to come to a screeching halt when he was compromised and potentially blackmailed, by Clinton. They became friends. Today news says Clinton says there is absolutely no difference between Romney and Newt. But real issues like the the pipeline and jobs and the economy? Can we just move along? Governor Perry is just so, you know.

A friend and I spend a lot of time discussing all the factors that goes into selecting a winning candidate.

Now, if it's true that Republicans select their candidate based on who ran before and whose turn it is now, then we're looking at our NEXT nominee, as well as our current one.

I feel like a Jew in early 30’s Germany.

That pretty much describes how I feel too. I have a sinking feeling of deja vu, reliving 2008 all over again. Accelerating and pressing on even harder now to finish my survival prep, it's going to be a rough ride.

Glad I'm old and got to live my youth back in the good ol' USA - I'm afraid I won't live long enough to see those days again.

“I feel like a Jew in early 30’s Germany”.

I actually coined that phrase in the early 1990’s. People do not fully grasp that, though the Jews had no say in things, much of the world heralded what Adolf was doing for his nation and pulling it out of the pit in which it found itself.

But the Jews had no say, and this, as time marched on, escelated, culminating in the great evil we are all aware of today.

Interestingly, though, Stalin killed more Jews than did Hitler.

But I digress. What I noticed in the 90’s and is screamingly obvious today, is that I am completely out of touch with American culture. It was only exacerbated by my eliminating TV from my life in 1997.

But it has given me clarity. It is why, in 2008, I bought a small farm in rural Kentucky and, in 2010, moved there from my home of 45 years, Seattle. It doesn’t guarantee safety, but it mitigates the risk. And it really will get VERY ugly this year and almost certainly throw the world into a very nasty hot war.

Just like the seemingly benign early 30’s Hitler eventually did.

A good issue to discuss. The process is very broken it seems.
Part of the problem is that so many people are uninformed and disengaged.
And “activists” are the ones that drive things on all sides.

I guess this is where the historians come in. Maybe things are no worse now than 100 years ago or some other time frame.

Oh, yeah, Obama hates and fears Rick Perry because he knows Rick Perry will fight him.

He’s one of the few who’s already done so.
