These list always leave something off, but they are fun to kick around edit and add to and get you to thinking!

Two points right off the bat. First of all, “loss of faith in politicians and democracy”, is not inherently a bad thing.

Most Americans do not see mankind as inherently good or inherently evil. If there is any such perception it is that people are inherently *weak* and flawed.

So what kind of politicians do we expect? Weak ones, of course. And we also expect them to be flawed, at least to a tolerable level.

But that is okay, because despite most of them thinking they rule over us, most of us think of them as somewhat irksome, ill behaved and not particularly bright employees.

Are we surprised that a four time elected US senator is still unable to do the minimum expected of him? No more than we are surprised that a dim witted fast food employee hasn’t mastered the cooking of french fries, even if his job exists because of the good cleaning he gives the restrooms.

And guns? Buying lots of guns is a very good sign, because it means that people are wising up, that government can’t keep us safe by itself, and yet they are willing to protect and defend themselves. They are not fatalistic in any way.

If they go down, they will go down fighting, and such resistance make attempts at oppressing us much, much harder.

22LR Rifle

The 22LR will be the most useful weapon of all. You can buy years worth of ammo now for a small investment. They are accurate, and It will bring down all small game, wild and domestic (If the SHTF there won’t be much big game to bring down after a few weeks). Though they are not the best choice for home defense, after the SHTF, the bad guys will be unable to get bullets in a short time, while you have thousands. Nuff said on that. And the report does not carry far, giving away your position, and all members of the family can use it.

Important thing to remember...

Evil people without any fear of authority or restraint will become more evil.

My wife has a hemorrhoid when I talk about buying freeze dried food. I know that pasta, rice, beans can keep for quite a while, but other than that, what is the longest lasting off the shelf food.
At least she hasn’t objected to my gold, guns, ammo, and alcohol purchases.

Put up 5 more cases of Top Ramen last week... now I don’t want to try to live on Top Ramen, but it’s a good start because you can add just about anything to it, use it as a soup or make a stew-base out of it...

Lady Gaga bringing in the new year emerging in a black egg is not a good sign for the new year.

No where on that list does it mention gold, or other such valuables.

Re: the list #68, d-con. Don’t use D-Con if you are planning to eat the rats:)

Also from previous discussions, Bic disposable lighters.
Look into Pocket Mega Torch. They will give you a much better flame and won’t burn your fingers. Refillable, about $5

101: Physical Fitness. Even if you have all the food, guns, ammo, and other supplies you need to last years....if you are 350 lbs. and break a sweat opening a beer, you aren’t prepared.

Gun(s), ammo and matches.

I'll be eating that day and warm sheltered in a couple.

Life will build and grow

Since I’ve been down with a bug, I’d add various meds to the list; dayquil/nyquil-types for symptomatic relief, and to help you sleep, etc.
Stuff for the runs...besides first-aid kits, there’s a few more conditions I can’t think of right now...
