Mysterious metal ball from space falls in Namibia
CleanTV.com ^ | 12-23-11 | CleanTV

A mysterious metal ball reportedly fell from space , landing in a grasslands area of the African nation of Namibia.

So far experts claim the object is not of alien origin. It has two bumps on each end, appears to be hollow and weights about 13 pounds.

Namibia's National Forensic Science Institute Director Paul Ludik said the sphere is 3.6 feet around and is made out of a "sophisticated" alloy that is not unknown to modern science, although it has no identifying markings to link it with a country or a company.

So far that's about all we're told. But we have 2 nagging questions: 1) How can a hollow ball that is one yard in circumference and only 13 pounds manage to survive traveling through the earth's atmosphere? And 2) Why didn't this hollow ball collapse on impact?

and is made out of a "sophisticated" alloy that is not unknown to modern science

Note the bold highlighting of the word "unknown" - which is preceded by the word "not" for dramatic, sensational and confusing effect. In other words, the alloy is known.

Real question is - what IS the alloy? It's certainly not out of the question that a "hollow" ball of this size and weight could fall intact from a satellite of some sort with a decaying orbit. Titanium or some sort of titanium alloy jump to mind, since titanium has an extremely high strength to weight ratio (i.e., it's a strong light metal).

This thing would be a little less than a foot in diameter. Must be very tiny aliens inside.

How do they know that it came from space?
How could it crash through the atmosphere without burning up
or show severe stress?

I will believe in ET when, and only when, he/she/it contacts us, or we contact it.

Also heat resistant.

But we have 2 nagging questions: 1) How can a hollow ball that is one yard in circumference and only 13 pounds manage to survive traveling through the earth's atmosphere? And 2) Why didn't this hollow ball collapse on impact?

1) Because it was made of Titanium alloy which is strong and light, and

2) Because it was made of Titanium alloy which is strong and light.

Because if it's low sectional density, after it reentered the atmosphere, it would have had a relatively low terminal velocity.

Here's a picture of a similar object that survived reentry that was posted on another thread:

Probably just space debris. The alloy “is not unknown to modern science”? Since that’s a double negative, the alloy is known to modern science.

Nothin’ to see here; move along.
