Radio Host Nails Chris Matthews: 'You're Clearly Working for the Re-Election of Barack Obama'

MSNBC's Chris Matthews ran into trouble on Thursday when an Iowa radio host mocked the TV personality: "I just want to make sure we're starting with some honesty. You're clearly working for the re-election of Barack Obama." WHO-AM's Simon Conway appeared on the December 15 Hardball and promptly started sparring with the liberal anchor. [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

After Matthews' bland introduction, Conway struck: "Well, first of all, it's always a pleasure to welcome a Democrat to the Simon Conway Show, Chris." (The interview was simulcast on Conway's program.) A rattled Matthews responded, "This isn't going to go very long here if you're going into this game of assigning" political labels.

Said the guy who worked for Tip O'Neill.

I guess Tingles wasn’t expecting a Republican to fight back.

I met Simon Conway in Indianola, Iowa on Sept. 3.

He is a force of nature!

They are always shocked when a conservative has the temerity to go after them.

Chris Matthews doesn't irritate me as many others do as he is a political pundit and not a objective news anchor. At least, that's the way it was last time I knew about his show. Yeah, he is obnoxious in the way he tries to give the idea he is an independent moderate but he still is open about giving an opinion and not trying to mind fudge like the network news crowd

Because it happens so seldom. That's why people like Trump and Cain had such a surge and why Newt is going strong. People perceive that they'll take it to these blowhards and challenge their idiocy.

For those not familiar with Iowa radio, Simon’s station is a “blowtorch”, the venerable WHO Des Moines ‘’(1040 khz at 50,000 watts)...local home of Rush in the Midwest.
Chances are his radio audience is greater than that of MSDNC..aka MSNBC.
WHO was the original radio home of Ronald (Dutch) Reagan.
