It’s just basically a bookmark you make, so you can make the thread easier to find by searching under your pings, because it is easier to search your pings, rather than try and search amongst a couple hundred threads that are created each day.
Now you know how mean we are, I should tell you that it is a prerequisite to hold a dagger between your teeth when you participate, so you have a useful offense weapon when you post.
