He’s not even my candidate, but words matter, and passengers don’t get tickets, so what you wrote was wrong.
I believe they they can, for not wearing a seat belt, but that was not the case here. Good point Charles. Anyway, traffic tickets are not even on my list of issues.
True. She sounded like she was making it up as she talked.
Because apparently bullying an officer and using your government credentials to exert undue influence doesn't register with you...
I agree but good luck getting that passed.
But it’s not about the traffic ticket, it’s about “bullying an officer” by telling him who you are. :-)
You have awful low standards. We have a golden opportunity to focus on electing anyone we want and people place their focus on Obama. What a strange hold that man has on many of you folks. Obama is already defeated.
BTW, you should actually watch the video. It’s hilarious what some people think of as “intimidation” or “bullying”.
Once you get over the fact that it appears the tape was edited, the parts you DO see are the DRIVER talking to the officer and explaining, the officer already deciding not to give a ticket, and Perry then asking if they could just get on their way because they were late. She was writing a warning at that time — and it is annoying to have to wait for a warning, which is just a piece of paper saying you shouldn’t have been doing what you were doing.
And yes, he was asked about it in 2000, and he said he should have stayed in the car. Apparently, being able to express regret only makes it a more serious issues for some people.
At no time in the video do we see Perry asking the officer to change her opinion — maybe it was in the part of the video that was inexplicably cut out, except since it was posted by an anti-perry person, I doubt they would edit out stuff that made him look bad.
Interesting reads from C4P

One of the comments on youtube claimed that Perry cussed out the officer, but obviously that is missing. Who knows.
If that part of the story is true, and Perry wins the nomination, expect that officer to find some fame in the NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, etc.
That is pretty weak gruel my friend. You guys are bad about posting links that claim to prove something they don’t.
