Since Newsweek is no longer part of the Washington Post news group, maybe they are trying to become more relevant.
Slim chance, I know, but just saying...
Newsweek is nearly bankrupt (financially, if not morally) and they know Sarah sells. That’s why they’re giving her publicity.
I thought the cover photo looked a little awkward more than “relaxed” and it almost appeared as if they enhanced her bust the way Rolling Stone enhanced Al Gore’s “package” back in 2000. Again, to sell magazines, not so much to promote the candidacy.
You’re right to be skeptical. Sarah should have been also. Of the 8 pictures posted, not one was in a suit, at a rally, in a meeting. They were all glamor shots and completely alone. Why do you suppose they did that?
When will Republicans realize that they are being interviewed and photographed by DEMOCRATS?
Something along the lines of being hoist on their own petard!
maybe, but given the context, i think the better interpretation is 1) newsweek wants to make some money so put SP on the cover and do a reasonable interview for a lefty mag ( i might just buy this, havent bought newsweek in 40 years otherwise)
2) hey SP just might be nominee or gasp, pres, maybe we want our guy to be one of the few she will talk to
3) they know Obozo is a colossal failure and are trying to shake him up by seeming to promote whom “we” all know is a lightweight
>>...Is positive press from the liberal MSM now a good thing for a Republican?...<<
It could be that the particular Republican being covered can be considered as “guaranteed to sell” the product. Perhaps even increase sales.
They may hate her. But they also need to sell magazines. Love her or hate her, Palin draws eyeballs. She can draw a crowd. The MSM can not help themselves since ignoring her means the competition gets the traffic (or sales, or viewers, or whatever).
