Waiting for Sarah (while other conservatives join liberals to bash her)
AmerIvan Thinker ^ | Saturday June 25, 2011 | M Catherine Evans

After all Sarah Palin did last year to contribute to the GOP's historical 2010 win, and all that she has gone through to shine the light on true conservative values, I am amazed how some of those on the right still disparage her.

Jeff Kuhner of the Washington Times, and a fill-in host for Michael Savage, echoed leftist reporters like Susan Milligan of U.S. News and Bill Keller of the New York Times.

Mrs. Palin (should she run) may be able to win the GOP nomination. The presidency, however, is a bridge too far. The media will eviscerate her. Outside of her intense base, she is despised and distrusted. She personifies the cheap politics of celebrity.

Really, Jeff? "The media will eviscerate her?" Where have you been for the past 3 years? She is probably the most vetted politician in U.S. history. Palin has withstood accusations of murder, a barrage of bogus charges as Governor (after her 2008 election loss -- how scared are the Dems?), vicious attacks on her children, public death threats by various entertainers, a guerilla media obsessed with destroying her, and basement Obama zombies posting graphic pornographic messages about a mother of five on leftist sites. Is the governor's integrity still intact? You betcha.

Susan Milligan used the same line as Kuhner comparing Palin to Paris Hilton:

Palin is becoming the Paris Hilton of the Republican Party -- famous for being famous, pulling stunts to get attention, and then complaining about the attention she's getting.

But Bill Keller takes the prize. After reading this, Kuhner and his fellow right-wing wimps should shudder at the thought of standing beside the same liars and radicals they purport to despise.

Palin got the Paul Revere question right. For some reason you are sticking with the liberal media talking points. I don't know why.

The attacks will be intense. She is a threat to actually change things.
People in power don’t want change.
They have made themselves comfortable sucking off the system.

Sarah whined that “What have you seen so far today, and what are you going to take away from your visit?” was a “gotcha” question. Can it conceivably be?

Your comment is too cryptic for me to follow. What I think you are saying is that Sarah is doing things that allow the media to use against her. If you agree, give some examples on how Sarah has acted to give the lame stream media reason to attack? How is Sarah assisting the media in her destruction?

Finally, who is being “over-reactive?”

In the “Revere Statement” followup, Sarah whined that “What have you seen so far today, and what are you going to take away from your visit?” was a “gotcha” question. Can it conceivably be?

Find the full Palin quote where she complained, if you wish to prove some kind of point.

“Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have. He did warn the British. And in a shout-out gotcha type of question that was asked of me, I answered candidly. And I know my American history.”

Shout-out gotcha type of question: “What have you seen so far today, and what are you going to take away from your visit?”?

Hardly.

I think it was a gotcha question because those asking the questions were engaging in what is called gotcha journalism. You were not with Sarah that week of her “One Nation” bus tour. That mob was hell bent in getting Sarah to contradict herself or say something that will prove to be self damaging. The way they went with the Paul Revere thing was classic gotcha journalism. The problem was what Sarah said about the historical event was accurate, even though she allowed only a few seconds to express her thoughts in as brief of an exchange as possible.

Finally, Sarah Palin does have a degree in journalism. She knows the journalism playbook. To you the question did not seem like a “gotcha question.” To Sarah, such was a textbook case of a “gotcha question,” and that mob of journalist were engaged in gotcha journalism in the classic case.

so you are going to cut SP up, and this is your best argument?

if you are a consevrative or even a rino, this is pathetic.

“Dont vote for Sarah, she called a question “gotcha” and there is eveidence it wasnt” Vote for pro-AGW Mitt! Vote for garbled syntax Michele! Vote for flip-flop TPaw!

It is pathetic because you have one standard for SP and much much much lower standards for everyone else.

Conservatives joining Liberals to bash Sarah, it`s terrible! And it`s absolutely right, these same people/conservatives seem to have forgotten all that Sarah has done, all the people she helped get elected.

Michele Bachmann might not be in Congress right now if it had not been for Gov Palin. And the money she raised for MB, sand what does MB do but hire a guy to trash her on tv, still waiting for an apology.

Just remember, much/most of the same Libs and conservatives that are bashing Palin, are also both pushing Bachmann, so this is all connected.

MB will probably get a very soft interview with Chris Wallace on Sunday.

I bet he does not ask her about Ed Rollins etc. I emailed him suggesting quite a few tough questions for her, so we shall see

What the heck has Sarah done wrong to deserve such nasty comments from so-called Republicans

No one in politics has been treated worse than Sarah.

There is a thread yesterday where a good portion of the Palin-haters her on FR suddenly converge to give their full-fledged support to Bachmann....I believe that its mostly FAKE support for Michele and its all about their intense dislike for Palin

If any of that is actually true, it's because of NBC. They have been on a campaign to destroy her from the day McCain picked her.

Absolutely, and it`s the same deal with the LSM that are saying how impressed with Bachmann they are, it`s only because of their hatred/fear of Gov Palin that they say they support MB.

Much of MB support is from Palin haters and is not real, I do worry though that some may fall for it.

Bachmann is no Sarah and that’s no knock to Michele; more people have seen and known about Sarah and her trial by fire over these two and a half years of attacks from the media and Republican Establishment and they personally invested in Sarah when they voted for HER not for John McCain in 2008 - meaning that Sarah has already a base that’s ready to go the moment she announces whereas Michele is building a base, Sarah is going to overflood the market once she gets in
