Tougher immigration enforcement ignores the humanitarian needs of migrants

TUCSON, ARIZ. — Every day, the courtroom in the De Concini Federal Courthouse which hosts Operation Streamline is typically full of 70 men and women from various parts of Mexico and Central America. Processed in groups, they are divided up into groups of people who will receive the same sentence. Each group, listening to the proceedings through interpretation headphones, waits its turn to be called in front of the Magistrate. Each person is given a plea bargain that has been created in advance between prosecutors for the U.S. Government, and defense attorneys who have met with each defendant for a few minutes that morning.

Operation Streamline was created in Del Rio, Texas, in 2005 to place criminal penalties on illegal entry into the various jurisdictions along the border. These criminal charges were to act as a deterrent to people; the idea was that the threat of jail time would prevent people from attempting to enter the United States without authorization.

I'd been there before, and this was all I expected to see when I walked into the courtroom recently. But it was not all: I walked into the courtroom and was greeted by a friend, a young man named Jaime*, with whom I had been visiting over the course of several weeks in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

I'd liked to take her on a tour of locations through out American that can indicate the same thing-does not care about the gravity of situation in his homeland, the gangs and violence, the utter poverty. These same illegals also manage to come up with a few thousand dollars to be smuggled into a America. They try to justify the illegals coming here by saying that the "Mexicans are starving in Mexico". Have you actually seen a starving Mexican in Mexico and where in Mexico did you see this. Please tell us in which state and which town and which colonia. The Mexican women keep having baby after baby after baby, to suggest things are not as dire as they make them out to be.

“…the the humanitarian needs of (illegal) immigrants.”

Their needs: (1) shown that strict enforcement of USA law is not to be challenged, lest they be dealt with harshly, to the fullest extent of that law; (2) no surprise when our laws are enforced; (3) come to the USA legally if they wish to enter.

The humanitarian needs we should be looking to are the ones where we round up their criminal asses and put them on air-conditioned buses back to Mexico!

It is amazing that we have millions of native born Americans on the dole, while illegals who don't even speak the language can come here and support themselves.

Nonsense.
If they are not criminals they have nothing to worry about.
If the broke the law and enter this Country illegally then they are treated like any other criminal or should be treated like any other criminal

These people are opportunist user vultures feasting on the good will of America's citizens. They are enticed by liberals here because they will eventually illegally vote(maybe legally if the Democrat Party gets its way).

This problem is far more serious than any Muslim Terrorist problem we could have.

Anybody who refuses to acknowledge the difference between legal and illegal immigration does not deserve the benefit of the rule of law.

Humanely round them up and send them back to Met-e-co, where their country of origin can provide for them.

She wouldn't care about the devastation caused by letting tens of millions of semi-literate Third Worlders simply flood in. Like all liberals, she would think we deserve the degradation because "we have too much".

As for the Central American kid in the Illegal Alien Sob Story, his record won't mean anything back where he's from. They don't even have records in most of those places, unless they're local. And if he ever re-enters the U.S., he'll just get a fake ID - he was going to anyway. Only time that will ever not work is if he gets fingerprinted - how many jobs require that?

And the obvious rejoinder to her blubbering about never seeing his father, she never mentions: Daddy could always just go see Sonny back home.

But, uh, if it costs El Grande Padre a couple of grand to pay a Coyote to bring him back into the U.S. illegally, well then, I guess we know the real reason. He's here illegally as well.

We're supposed to feel bad that the kid gets caught doing the same crime his dad did and that's why their family isn't "reunified"?

Here's a picture of the port at Nogales

To get into the United States, all you have to do is present your passport and visa if such is required. You can walk in.

Why is that so difficult to do? I do it all the time, all over the world.

Then their little family could reunify for a little visit in the U.S.

But not now, 'cuz the kid just scotched that for pretty much his whole life. At least not legally.

Not amazing at all, try mixing in some with the dark world of the illegals and you will learn that the criminal types will do anything to survive, and announced their lack of interest in American law and standards the day they set off to sneak into out country.

Oh how I wish that you knew what you were talking about. You and I support them, both groups. You need to meet an Illegal who is driving a new pickup who has six different ID’s, all of them phony, who has a wife and four kids, who is collecting welfare from three different counties, who has been deported eight times.

You’ve already met the parasite who has never worked a day in her life, has had eight children and six abortions who wears better clothes than you or your wife does.

Illegal immigrants = huge net loss to the US and will only get worse.

The Catholics here support illegals to get housing and jobs. Future church growth plan. Isn’t helping criminals a crime itself? And it an organization does it, RICO?

Instead of being smuggled into America, how about this: get together with a few friends and their few thousand dollars and start a business in Mexico. Offer your product online in English to the U.S. market. Get comfortable, well off or even rich.

The outright stupidity of organized religion in general is becoming a real pain in the ass with respect to the illegal alien issue, among other things.

I believe in God. I also believe that the complete suspension of rational thought by certain religious institutions is a perfect illustration as to why religion has no business being anywhere near politics.

Yes it does.

Just as the tough immigration laws of the country they left, do.

So what makes them nobler than us? That's a serious question.

All rational human being can understand the simple concept : if your government is taking everything you have, what can you use to deal with this retard's important needs of immigrants?
And what happens when the numbers of migrants exceed our ability to satify their needs?

Is it then OK to just kill them? Or allow them to just kill us?

Illegal is ILLEGAL!!! Our laws need to be followed. And, I don’t think it’s up to ILLEGALS to decide our immigration policies~
Here’s an idea~~stop paying American’s to stay home. They will do the jobs the illegals are doing if they are not given money~and get real hungry.
Just ask the people like my grandparents, American born, that came to California to picked fruit and were damn glad to work! And, by the way, they did not wait to get hungry~
