Throughout this story, Andrew (Breitbart) has expressed his concern for protecting the identities of the underage girls whose tangential involvement has led to harassment. I have taken great pains to do the same.
But not everyone has behaved as responsibly, as (Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher) later reports. The girls’ Twitter handles and names got published on the Daily Kos by one of the community diarists there, and Tommy contacted Markos Moulitsas to ask him to remove the identifications. Moulitsas refused:

These are confidential sources. If you can’t call me, at least have this blog taken down, or redact the DM screenshot, including the names (redacted) and the name (redacted), and the girl’s picture. And any reference to those names in the comments or story

Please let me know what’s going on. I will be posting these girls’ story pretty soon, with proper protection. They just don’t want all these bread crumbs out there. They are 16 years old.

That’s a community member’s post. Not my staff. I don’t exert editorial control over what the community writes absent legal imperatives or deeply offensive material. Right now, I’m seeing neither.
I’m not sure I get why you want me to pull that. Those DMs appear relevant to the story. As I understand it, those two individuals injected themselves into a political smear effort, why should they be protected now?

Markos M is very rich, and has deep pockets, and doesn't care if your girls are publicly identified regarding this lurid affair. have you attorneys?

What “smear”? The smear that exists in Kos’s leftist Democrat mind? Kos has acted in an unprincipled manner before, as when he plainly blamed Palin for Giffords’ being shot. Kos had targeted Giffords for defeat himself. He needs to learn some ethics.
How, exactly, have these girls participated in a smear? By being twittered by Shorty Weiner?

Yes. In Democrat vernacular, smear is an event, or the truth, which puts Dems in a bad light.
BTW, regarding that underwear bit, it occurred first in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" a 1997 hit.

We can only imagine that Weiner thinks of himself as a modern day LIBERAL Austin Powers with the little girls nothing more than robotic Fembots.

Sounds like they are ripe for a Breitbart-style punking. Show their bias and publish it to the world. Remind everyone of it as a reponse to every story they 'break'.
Maybe John Edwards could sue Kos before he loses his law license.
