Let the Savaging of Newt Begin

WILL MAKE ATTACKS ON PALIN LOOK LIKE CHILD’S PLAY

And so it begins. Now that Newt Gingrich has made it official, we’re about to see a campaign of personal destruction that will make the attacks on Sarah Palin look like child’s play. This cartoon had the caption, “Newt Gingrich is Scum.” Catch the drift?

Disclaimer: I am not condoning or excusing Newt’s past transgressions, which include extramarital affairs and the insensitivity of serving divorce papers to one of his wives while she was in the hospital. I am posing the question as to whether or not his past personal life should disqualify him as a candidate for President of the United States.

While we’ve certainly had presidents who have had extramarital affairs – including Kennedy and Clinton, who committed adultery while in office – Newt Gingrich is different: He’s Republican. He’s a threat to liberals because he stands in stark contrast to their president, who is viewed by millions of Americans as far-left, indecisive, and a man with a vision of America that is very different from theirs – and that of past presidents as well.

Gingrich is an intellectual who would most likely destroy Obama in debates: foreign policy, domestic energy policy, fiscal policy. Democrats and their sock puppets in the media don’t want their president in the ring with this guy. So as any good liberal would do, they must attack and destroy Newt – personally. (While we’ll never know – it’s safe to assume that more than a few of Gingrich’s detractors haven’t exactly lived lives of sanctity themselves.)

So let the debate begin. Newt Gingrich brings excitement, intelligent thought and a belief in American Exceptionalism to the table. He also brings personal baggage. In a country that tends to forgive those who apologize for past transgressions, Newt will have no such luck with the threatened Left, who will pull out all the stops to destroy him. That’s a shame; we are a divided country in desperate need of a president with a backbone who puts America first.

Fine with me!

Newt is an oppurtunistic RINO.

All you have to remember is Dede Scozzafa and his daliance with Nancy Pelosi and Global Warming.

He is not a true blue conservative and he is most definitely not a conservative.

And finally, he is not a leader, he is a craven politician.

He’d be great in a policy position in the cabinent of an actual conservative President, but not as POTUS.

I met Newt once. He seemed nice enough and it’s generally accepted that he’s a very bright man, but he’d be better in a cabinet and/or advisory position and not the leader of the free world. Yes, he’s better than Zero, but he’s not the best candidate for the job.

That said, the media dirtbags that are savaging him will savage ANY Republican, so we can’t change what we think and who we like based on how they’ll react.

"WILL MAKE ATTACKS ON PALIN LOOK LIKE CHILD’S PLAY"

It is not even remotely possible for anyone to be savaged worse than the media has savaged Palin.

The FR has long been a tough room for Newt to play in.

Newt is a big government global warmist socialist.

I do not care about his personal life, I care what he stands for, just post the picture of him with Pelosi and his book on global warming.

The FR has long been a tough room for Newt to play in.

That's because Freepers pay attention and don't generally compromise their principles for political power.

Newt on the other hand.....

It is not enough to disagree with your opponent - they must be DESTROYED!!! That is the political environment we are living in today. Since the GOP always wants to take the high road with sweetness and light (remember McCain priasing Obozo during the campaign and after Obozo beat him), I have to conclude the DESTRUCTION OF CHARACTER originates on the LEFT.

And the attacks began here months ago.

Actually, the outing of Newt and his RINO behaviors began here months ago.

Newt, with his own choices, is his own worst enemy.

Newt is an oppurtunistic RINO. He is NOT! Not everyone who disagrees with something you believe in is a RINO!

Oh, please. He blew a historic chance to pass conservative legislation because he was too busy chasing interns.

Then there’s the whole sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelousy thing. He can NOT be trusted.

According to an article written by his daughter, the “serving divorce papers in the hospital” story is completely untrue.

“”the insensitivity of serving divorce papers to one of his wives while she was in the hospital””

Stop listening to the liberal clap-trap. It did not happen. Their daughter Jackie has written about those circumstances trying to set the record straight but people still repeat the liberal line as gospel. Wise conservatives will also repeat it.

The wife filed for divorce and their daughters were advised of it before their mother went into the hospital to have a tumor removed which was benign. Newt took the daughters to the hospital to see their mother.

Shouldn’t be too difficult to understand unless another motive is in play here.

Newt started out well, but he started to move left and compromise while he was still in congress under clinton.

He has all too frequently proven that he has no principles, but will do whatever it takes to stay in the game.

Dede Scozzafava, global warming, Nancy Pelosi . . . the list goes on.

We need someone we can trust in the clinch, because a clinch there will certainly be. Newt has frequently proven that he cannot be trusted.

Too bad, because he started out great, and he talks a good game.
