Creating an Evolutionary Bias
Accuracy in Academia ^ | May 5, 2011 | Malcolm A. Kline

A pair of professors from Penn State found out that most high school teachers do not teach evolution as a proven scientific fact and the duo don’t like it one bit. “Creationism has lost every major U. S. federal court case for the past 40 years, and state curricular standards have improved,” Michael D. Berkman and Eric Plutzer asserted in the January 28, 2011 issue of Science magazine. “But considerable research suggests that supporters of evolution, scientific methods, and reason itself are losing battles in America’s classrooms.”

Berkman and Plutzer based their conclusions on research drawn from the National Survey of High School Biology teachers sampling of 926 instructors. “We estimate that 28% of all biology teachers consistently implement the major recommendations and conclusions of the National Research Council,” Berkman and Plutzer wrote. “They unabashedly introduce evidence that evolution has occurred and craft lesson plans so that evolution is a theme that unifies disparate topics in biology.”

Berkman and Plutzer teach political science. What bothers them the most is “a sizable number of teachers” who “expose their students to all positions.” Their solution: forcing an evolutionary curriculum on teachers in training.

They were lost on the core issue that creationism is a doctrine of biblical apologetics, and not science. This has been the consistent ruling.

Thanks, that one works for logical people... The thing you have to keep in mind about evolosers is that logic bounces right off them like water off a duck. They’re immune to logic but, funny thing, there actually is one thing they are not immune to, which is simple human laughter. That is the one thing which ideologies can’t abide.

Ridicule is a powerful tool, no doubt, but the golden mind stoops not to shows of dross.

I am not persuaded in the least by your post.

The eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980 shows the same type of sedimentary layering and trees both uprooted and intact that are insitu through many layers of sediment.

Any inaccurate assumptions made by Haldane have not disproven the dilemmna he asserted. Actually just the opposite but then it depends upon your source.

Thousands upon thousands [of missing transitionals fossils] can be translated as millions. Regardless the scientifically discredited theory of macro-evolution does not have any transitionals.

DNA among all human beings is more than 99.9% similar. Better yet #3 from prior link in my post ~ 3.The decay in the human genome due to multiple slightly deleterious mutations each generation is consistent with an origin several thousand years ago. Sanford, J., Genetic entropy and the mystery of the genome, Ivan Press, 2005; see review of the book and the interview with the author in Creation 30(4):45–47,September 2008. This has been confirmed by realistic modelling of population genetics, which shows that genomes are young, in the order of thousands of years. See Sanford, J., Baumgardner, J., Brewer, W., Gibson, P. and Remine, W., Mendel’s Accountant: A biologically realistic forward-time population genetics program, SCPE 8(2):147–165, 2007.

You can neither disprove the Bible nor prove macro-evolution. More natural clocks from my previous post...

12.Lack of plant fossils in many formations containing abundant animal / herbivore fossils. E.g., the Morrison Formation (Jurassic) in Montana. See Origins 21(1):51–56, 1994. Also the Coconino sandstone in the Grand Canyon has many track-ways (animals), but is almost devoid of plants. Implication: these rocks are not ecosystems of an “era” buried in situ over eons of time as evolutionists claim. The evidence is more consistent with catastrophic transport then burial during the massive global Flood of Noah’s day. This eliminates supposed evidence for millions of years.

13.Thick, tightly bent strata without sign of melting or fracturing. E.g. the Kaibab upwarp in Grand Canyon indicates rapid folding before the sediments had time to solidify (the sand grains were not elongated under stress as would be expected if the rock had hardened). This wipes out hundreds of millions of years of time and is consistent with extremely rapid formation during the biblical Flood. See Warped earth.

14.Polystrate fossils—tree trunks in coal (Auracaria spp. king billy pines, celery top pines, in southern hemisphere coal). There are also polystrate tree trunks in the Yellowstone fossilized forests and Joggins, Nova Scotia and in many other places. Polystrate fossilized lycopod trunks occur in northern hemisphere coal, again indicating rapid burial / formation of the organic material that became coal.

I am not surprised. Many people believe what they want to believe, despite scientific evidence.

Wendy, you should sell classroom videos! Nothing like distilled logic. Thanks again, Bob
