RINO: “Obama ignores the Constitution.
Obama is ruining America.
There is only ONE thing to do.
Cry and attack the Tea Party.
Poor me. Poor me.”

Thank You, Thank You, Mr Edmund Wright for exactly the proper perspective, even touching on the personal psychological distortion created by the centralization of Washington DC.

The US federal government could be dismantled to 60% of its contemporary authority and revenue, then get its priorities in order (like enforcing legal immigration), and we as honest taxpaying citizens, would all be better off.

This is especially true in this era of open information by which enterprise competition and availability could prevail and provide. How obvious is it that fear (e.g. media sensation) and guilt (Obama) are the only levers of control that centralized government have left?

We don't know John Boehner, but it certainly appears he has descended into the abyss of political careerism just like ALL of Washington DC. Thus the Tea Party.

Some 19th (or 18th) Century Statesman said war was too important to be left to generals. Can't remember who it was, but the point being that generals were to close to the thing to grasp the strategic view.

Well ditto politics. I think politics is too important to be left to politicians.

And as long as I'm at it. I think law is too important to be left to lawyers.

And what's more, I think the most important thing our congressvolk and senators can do is prevent the passage into law of good ideas. (We should be so lucky to be saved from people with good ideas.)

In fact the law is so important that it should be well nigh impossible to create a new law.

What's more we should bring back the ancient Greek practice of ostracism for public figures. Once a year vote on who should be ostracized and the top ten or one hundred vote getters are ostracized - for at least a decade minimum.

That would flush things out.

Oh yes, never reelect anyone. Or their relatives.

And Mark Twain's and H.L. Mencken's thoughts on politics and politicians should be required reading with a test after wards to qualify for voting. (Probably ought to include Groucho Marx and Will Rogers Daniel Defoe and at least one good Roman satirical poet im the mix of reading.)

The tea party gave republicans the power to change the direction the country is heading, use it or lose it.

And the Republicans promptly gave the power back to the Democrats.

I just went to Congress.guv and went to Boehners web page. Sent him a note telling him to cut or gut govt spending or I’ll switch to the Conservative party.
Told him to grow or buy a set of balls if he needed any to stand up to the likes of chuckie schumer.

In the last national election, Liberals made a dead stick landing with “O” in the cockpit.

With an experienced and capable pilot in the cockpit, I think the Tea Party is able to do as well and BETTER.

I have always believed in the old saying: ‘Depart from the book at your own peril’.

Well, THEY certainly departed from the book in the last Presidential election… actually, Liberals banned and burned the book….placed a blue-ribbon loser in the WH and called it SUCCESS!!!

If it takes a full-on Tea Party tsunami to reverse THIS train wreck, then WE can certainly depart from the book as well and with every expectation of success (especially, if what we have NOW can be any gauge for success)!!

The GOP had better brace itself for a fall if they do not comprehend the depth and breadth of Conservative rancor over the errors and omissions the “O” administration… AND the criminally illicit methods Liberals employed to establish and maintain it!!!

The GOP needs to ‘lead, follow or GET THE H^%% OUT OF THE WAY!!!!’

This reminds me of the story Dick Armey tells about a trip home to Texas shortly after he became Speaker of the House. One of the people he called on was the lady who had been his Sunday School teacher years and years ago. He had always remembered her and was most anxious to see her and show her how far he had gone. He said she listened attentively to him as he described what an important position he held and so on and so forth. When he was all through she just looked at him and replied “That's nice Dick, but you know it's NOT about you.” She then went on, in typical Sunday School teacher fashion, how it's not about US, it's about the Lord.

He says he was very humbled after that little experience! I think there's a LOT of people in Washington these days who could benefit from some time with that Sunday School teacher!

” One six year term and then OUT for good!!!”

You’ve got that right. For most (all?) politicians, what they consider to be good for their careers is more important than what’s good for the country. Make it clear that this job is not a career, it’s one shot public service. The current state of affairs gives us a permanent election campaign, and the candidate who wins is too often the one who promises to give the electorate the most freebies.

Right.

If a candidate CANNOT/WILL NOT present a clear and specific agenda for HIS 6 years in office, he should NOT be considered.

The system we have now permits complete idiots, possessing NO experience, NO vision, NO skill, NO REGARD FOR AMERICA, etc. to marble-mouth all kinds of BS during the campaign...and once such people are elected, they are increasingly evasive, inefficient and in no way compelled to account for themselves, either as individuals or for their party.

Voters are left holding the bag!! There is NO agenda or document with which voters may evaluate what the candidate SAID against what the NOW President, DOES!!!!

If an individual is incapable of expressing his vision for the next six years, he has NO business running the country. If he expresses his plans for the next six years – and is elected, voters have EVERY right to expect he will at least, ATTEMPT to deliver on his plan. Voters will feel they have SOME sense of direction and will not feel they are being led like sheep over a cliff. No more of this bait and switch BS we have been getting!!!

You ask:

“What about earthquakes, what about economic meltdown, what about warfare….??? None of these things can be predicted!”

You are absolutely correct.

However-

THAT is why we vet candidates
THAT is why we elect leaders who express themselves clearly and demonstrate enough character and integrity in their experience and background to command the confidence of voters. Then, in the event of disastrous and unexpected events, we may expect that our leader will steer the course for us.

How arrogant if we DIDN’T work it out this way????

Arrogant, there’s the word to describe the choice America made in the last national election. America thumbed its nose at history and fate. NOW, Americans will have to RE LEARN the simple, basic facts of life about how the world works!!

Ah, more conservative 'porn'. How about asking this question: what has occurred over the l7 years since FR was launched, or the 23 years since Rush has been on the air?

Your first & most egregious mistake was to assume Reps actually provide representational services. You see, it really is about Boehner ... and Pelosi, et al. That is, they have achieved the height their respective careers.

The crucial idea to understand is that Congress is like a business. Those who succeed enjoy lifestyles, current and future, that provide rewards far in excess of your typical private business.

Until people figure out that these people in no way represent their interests, and simply lie in order to get elected by whichever constituency buys their line - whether it is welfare or warfare - then we will continue to see FedGov increase in scope & control.

Yeah, and what are you going to do about it? Type an angry response on a conservative porn site?

These guys simply do not give a sh!t about you. You're a tool, a useful idiot. The election pantomime provides legitimacy to the concept of self-government.

Their only stress is the short run up to each election; after that, it's all gravy.

Granted, Americans have only ever been permitted the ‘illusion of self-government’.

But, what is going on right now is a perfect travesty. The national sense of betrayal is more than I have ever seen in my adult life.

THAT is something we can address. If we sat around with our arms folded for decades handing Liberals success after success (if only through our own apathy), then THEIR ability to determine our future has been OUR OWN doing.... it was done and it can be UNDONE.

The awakening sense of betrayal is only manifesting itself due to the economic situation. If we were still enjoying an expanding credit bubble, no one would care what new violations were being performed.

So the criminals f*cked up - they let the game go on a little longer than expected, and now it's blown up in their faces. They're trying desperately to cover it up with Fed monetary printing and fedgov spending to satisfy the bread & circus crowds.

Our only chance at redemption is if they fail.
