Duplicitous Dupnik in A WORLD of Hurt Now...
Reaganite Republican ^ | January 12, 2011 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 01/12/2011 5:00:40 AM PST by Reaganite Republican

Deflect, divert, attack opponents...
typical cornered, incompetent lib

Meanwhile back in reality, Sheriff Clarence Dupnik allowed myriad opportunities to prevent a gruesome bloodbath slip right through his hands... and he knows it

Yesterday the Pima County Sheriff that's been attempting to tack the Tuscon massacre on the American Right in general -and Rush Limbaugh in particular- got a call of congratulations from the President himself... isn't that special.

Thinking persons can be excused for asking "what the hell for"- other than Dupnik's failure to prevent a blood-curdling tragedy right under his nose... must be the diversionary Alinskyite attacks upon American talk radio that Obama finds so to his liking.

And Sheriff Dupnik's got plenty to try and divert us from: according to Arizona's La Cholla Jumps, Dupnik knew all about Jared Loughner, yet assured local radio hosts, bloggers, and college administrators threatened by him -thus frightened for their lives- that the mental health system had him under control... and that they had nothing to worry about (!)

Furthermore, Loughner's mother was herself working for Pima County at the time, while Sheriff Dupnik suggested to some that prosecution of Jared Loughner was "unnecessary" and would cause more problems than it solved.

Now there's been twenty people shot in Pima County, six fatalities including a Federal judge and a 9-year-old child... and Dupnik could have easily prevented it.

With the actual reason Dupnik's gone aggro on bloggers, Rush Limbaugh, the TEA Party, et al out of the bag, you've got to wonder how long he'll be in the job now- lawsuits to follow.

Sheriff Dupnik knows just how involved he was in keeping a bloodthirsty ogre out on the street... and also how he failed to file the charges that could have prevented Loughner from buying that problematic semi-auto Glock 9mm, apparently with his unemployment check. Dupnik's behavior in the wake of the tragedy -coming out firing with both barrels at conservative media- hardly  bespeaks confidence in his previous handling of the situation.

Alas, any argument purporting that lucid political logic drove the actions of this madman is moot, anyway- certified shrink Dr. Charles Krauthammer is convinced that Loughner's a paranoid-schizophrenic, no real surprise there. Still, as for the MSM's handling of the story, Dr K sees nothing but "cynicism, willful ignorance, and malice".

Leftist opportunists need need to be called on the sickening false narrative they're pushing in order to exploit this tragedy. What they are doing is way wrong, and the intentionally misleading statements and unprincipled innuendo need to be bathed in the harsh light of reality...

It's not Rush Limbaugh nor Sarah Palin that have blood on their hands, Sheriff Dupnik... it's you and that lunatic you should have had locked away years ago.

I think it's way too early to make that claim. How many here would have attacked him if he had locked this kid up on the IDEA that he might commit a crime?

Dupnik is an entrenched bureaucrat. He's no longer capable of doing the right thing for many reasons. Some of them include the fact that his hands are tied by too many conflicting laws. We all know this.

His time has long since past. He should have retired or been voted out of office at least a decade ago but he gets voted in anyway. A good deal of the blame has to go to the people that have ignored his incompetence and have kept electing him.

He is a product of our system of bastardized bureaucracy and is a portent of things to come unless we get him and his ilk out of office.

Oh man! This is going to be much worse for Obama than when he wenr ratty on the Cambridge cop. It’s going to take a lot more than any cheesy “beer summit” to wipe the egg of brash incompetanvy off his face *rhis* time.

If Dupnik had had an arrest and some sort of investigation, warning or something on his record, would not it have shown up in the back-ground check that was done when he bought the gun and prevented the sale?

Your post is right. That said, the people that elect a fool like this will never see their choice of him had no merit.

They pick him because his ideology mirrors their own.

His performance as a law officer is secondary to them.

Are sheriff’s elected in Arizona? If so, the fact that this turkey can get elected there is a sign of how many northeastern liberals have moved to the state once represented by Barry Goldwater.

Looughner was charged with a felony, and was placed in a diversion program. He should have been incarcerated after he made death threats on several people at his college.

At the very least if Loughner had been convicted of the felony, rather than diverted, then he would not have been able to pass an FBI gun check.

Nope. The buck stops with Dupnik. Dupnik knows that. He and his liberal idjits FAILED. Nineteen victims are the result.

Dupnik is not only incompetent. He is madder than a hatter, just like Obama and Loughner both are. Its not Rocket science.

Our nation is driven my madmen who ignore facts completely. They dwell in a self created alternative realities which never fail to bite them is the a$$. We need rid of them and their kind from government of any sort, they do too much harm to us:

Pima County Sheriff Dupnik is just one more example of a person who is supposed to be impartial, but is seduced by partisan/ideological biases. Dupnik has yet to take responsibility for his part in the killings. Dupnik needs to be reminded that he was elected to be a lawman.

(1) Why was Loughner never charged after his first or second drug arrests?

(2) News reports say at least five calls about Loughner were made to Pima County L/E BEFORE the shootings;

(3) Was there any pressure not to prosecute?

(4) What personal/political relationship does Pima County Sheriff Dupnik have with the suspect’s mother? Loughner’s mother works for the Pima County Board of Supervisors.

Hey, muawiyah....

Can you see the photograph of the sheriff, or are you listening to Free Republic, after your eye surgery?

When I look at that close up shot of the sheriff, I see someone who looks like they have a rabid case of alcohol-induced rosacea, the kind where the structure of the nose itself becomes changed, not 'just' the red cheek nonsense, but the real dreadful symptoms of the full blown rosacea of the alcoholic variety.

Frankly, IMNSHO, the sheriff is exhibiting all the grandiosity and lack of judgment and grandstanding sometimes associated in some types of personalities with the early signs of the onset of one or another form of DEMENTIA.

I was startled when I saw his face so close up..... he's NOT healthy.

It seems the sheriff could have prevented the gun sale by bringing the guy in for forced mental evaluation and annotating such in the national data base

At the very least Sheriff D acted stupidly but obama will bring him under his presidential shield today.

I do wonder of the victims have any recourse for dereliction of duty.

According to Charles Krauthammer about 1% of the American population suffers from schizophrenia.

Not all are violent, but anyone who provides rent-free space in their heads for voices should be tagged in the national data base for background checks if they issue threats or try to buy guns.

Isn’t Arizona one of two states that still treat marijuana possession as a felony?

Loughner wouldn't have needed to be arrested for the IDEA he might commit a crime. He had already threatened people and could have been arrested for that.

A minimal effort at prosecution for those threats would have certainly included a psych eval which, in turn, should have prevented him from buying the gun legally. (Whether he would have been able to obtain the gun illegally is open to speculation. Maybe so, maybe not.)

I don’t know many Freepers who would have issues with someone being arrested (and therefore mentally examined) for making death threats. Just disliking something is one thing, but he made specific threats to several PEOPLE and the sheriff poo poo’d them away.

Candor7, so many freepers have shared such awful, such tragic stories of friends or relatives who have a severely mentally ill child that they can NOT get help for, and here we have a case where an OBVIOUSLY going-off-the-edge into utter derangement 22-year old is apparently “covered” for by the sheriff.... OMG, this is just .... evil.
