If Obama Wants To Call Me A Radical…So Be It!

Am I a radical? Are you a radical? Are all freedom loving Americans who want the government to stick to their constitutional limits now to be labeled as extremist? This seems to be the case and perhaps is a new tactic used by the leftist and the Obama administration in an effort to disparage and disrupt the effect that the Tea Party and those involved with the conservative party are having on American politics.

Abandoning the Oval Office in favor of campaigning for the Democrats, Obama’s latest stump speech reported by Breitbart:

"US President Barack Obama on Friday branded Republicans as extreme and reactionary, in campaign appearances for high-profile Democratic senators under threat in November’s mid-term polls…

He charged that the first Republican president, his political hero Abraham Lincoln would not be able to win the opposition party’s presidential nomination in the modern age.

“Seriously, can you imagine him trying to run with these folks?” Obama said, in a bid to portray the Republican Party as outside the mainstream ahead of November 2 congressional polls in which his Democrats fear heavy losses.

Obama accused Republicans of sitting on their hands while he saved the economy from a second Great Depression and of wanting to go back to the same lax regulatory regimes that caused the crisis in the first place."

Yes, you read that right… he “saved the economy.” Obama loves to portray himself as a Super-Hero “saving the economy” and putting America back on track. And, if you lived in a hole on the other side of the world and all you had to judge from were his speeches, you could believe this to be so. However, those who live here and see the job losses every month, the families negatively effected by an overreaching, too powerful government knows that Obama is simply a legend in his own mind. But, I digress…. Radicals. We are considered radicals.

At first, this idea caused me a huge eye-rolling moment. But the more I thought about it, the more I began to believe that perhaps he was on to something. To a Socialist or anyone who believes strongly in this communistic ideology that the liberals have embraced, those of us who believe in individual freedoms, personal responsibility, capitalism and the free market, surely must be looked at as radicals. If that is the case, than I wear the title proudly.

As far as I can tell, our Founding Fathers were considered radicals too. Who else would abandon everything that they knew….their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to pursue a dream so far outside the realm of everything they knew to be familiar? They sound like radical extremists to me. The incredible idea that man could rule himself, without a dictatorship, was completely foreign to the world just over two hundred years ago. Tyranny was the rule of the day. It was established and held root by force, violence and fear and the power of the day came from the government down, not from the people on up. Terror contributed to the ruling classes dominion over the working class and it’s dominance led to extreme poverty, excessive regulation and taxation.

It was this life that brought about the greatest change that civilization had ever seen, the birth of the most incredible nation known to earth, and the heroes whose names we speak with such respect and reverence today. Men, like Thomas Paine, left us with pearls of wisdom like:

“Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.“

My, oh my, how those words resonate through my mind as we now once again face off against a ruling class who seek to control each and every aspect of our lives, who in exchange for “protection from ourselves” and “sustenance for our every need” seek for us to willingly handover our God-given rights and liberties. If choosing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness over a monstrous governing arm makes me a radical… so be it.

In closing, I leave you with more from Thomas Paine:

“O ye that love mankind! Ye that dare oppose, not only the tyranny, bu the tyrant, stand forth! Every spot of the old world is overrun with oppression. Freedom hath been hunted round the globe. Asia, and Africa, have long expelled her. Europe regards her like a stranger, and England hath given her warning to depart. O! receive the fugitive, and prepare in time an asylum for mankind.“

Excellent post, Brittany.

An extremeist? A radical? Seems not too long ago those titles were being applied to liberals and Democrats.

While I consider myself neither, if Obama so tags me, I will wear the label as a badge of honor.

0bama doesn’t understand anything “American”. He doesn’t understand our nature. He’s far removed from the real America.....he has nothing in common with the real America.

It’s hard to keep up with the labels. Am I a radical or an extremist or just a plain old garden-variety racist?
