To play devil’s advocate Rasmussen didn’t screw up with Palin’s F/UF and how the voters perceived which person best represents their views.

Imho, the more favorable approval numbers for Obama started after Sept 20/2010, the day that poll was released.

Today Rasmussen pegged Obama’s job approval at 45. It had not been as low as 45 since October 1.

I like Sarah Palin. She is one of the few people I would actually leave the comfort of my secure home and drive a few miles to see at a rally. When I donated to the McCain/Palin ticket, I made it very clear that I was donating in her name.

I would vote for her for President if I believed she had a VERY good chance of a successful win. However, I will not take any chances on the 2012 election.

I watched Rove attack O’Donnell, it was shocking. I don’t believe for one minute that he or others like him would not do the same thing to Palin.

When you have an enemy within, you have a problem. George Bush was a problem. His stand on immigration, the spending and on and on. George Bush and the Republican establishment gave us Obama who is a total traitor to this country.

I like Sarah Palin, I know she is a good, decent person and that she loves this country. I don’t think she can think out of the box though.

Everything someone does has a psychological affect on people’s perceptions. For example..if you were thinking about a run for President, would you allow your teenage daughter to go on Dancing with the Stars and make a complete fool out of herself? All the while, you (Palin) are sitting in the audience condoning the action.

We have some good options out there for Presidential Candidates. Young men like Paul Ryan who is brilliant in economics and a conservative. I am not going to settle for old baggage like Romney, Huckabee and that crowd.

His polling is running about 50/50... Carl had it at 75/25.

When I remarked that the MSM will implement tactic #1 to bring down Palin by questioning her qualifications, I know that the general strategy to marginalize her and suggest that she is not credible or unworthy will be the same but the details of how they bring that about will be different with Palin as opposed to O’Donnell since Palin is married with kids (O’Donnell has never been married), was a governor of a state (O’Donnell has never been elected to public office) and did not appear on any Bill Maher program (as O’Donnell did).

And imho the celebrity meme will be played to the hilt with Bristol front and center. Will the tactic work to keep evangelicals and more traditional Republicans from voting for her? Stay tuned.

The repubic party did the same thing to Reagan... and Reagan started kicking their butts at CPAC. WE decide... not party elites. Time for FR Conservatives to man up and stop worrying about party politics and start doing whatever it takes to win with Conservatives. Screw rove and his ilk... their day is over... we are starving their machine. I will NEVER give the party another dime... I will and have donated to Conservative candidates. So far it is over 2 grand since obama won... and I donate as much as I can.

Well, I must admit..I am not a political strategist. I have no idea what energizes people to support candidates any more.

I am definitely out of step with conventional wisdom.

I just hope we don’t miss really good candidates that could help our country and could smash Obama like the insect he is..while we hash over old news and controversies that will take us no where except to defeat.

“And notice how Karl Rove and other members of the party establishment have called into question O’Donnell’s qualifications for office and her past supposed indiscretions”

A sentence that supports what a lot of us have been saying here on FR. O’Donnell not only has to fight the dimoKKKRATS but the Delaware state Republican party, the national Republican party and their associated RINOs such as ROVE.

Watch the “I told you so’s” if Christine indeed loses. Well the “I told you so’s” will have been partly responsible for her defeat. There is a lot going on behind the scenes.

Bush won in 2000 and 2004.

Bush lost in Delaware in 2000 and 2004.

If O’Donnell wins, that means Palin could win Delaware.

Which puts Palin ahead of Bush in the electability department.

Huck, Mitt and Newt won’t make it past 2011 if Palin runs.

No doubt.

And Palin can say “well, I’m x for x” Because it appears that most tea party candidates are ahead in the polls.

There are many better and more viable Conservative options than Sarah Palin.

Other than perhaps the Dakota Governors, who?

She is not God, she is not the be all and end all of Conservativism.

Nobody said she was. We just recognize that she's the strongest of the field and is the only one willing to fight the Obama/leftist agenda.

I supported her in the face of what the media did to her in 2008. However, she is now damaged goods, like it or not.

If she was damaged goods, the candidates she has endorsed would have ran away from her. Her book would not be a best-seller. And she would not continue to garner the intense media scrutiny that she is now.

The fact that some of Palin’s supporters are trying to run the narrative in the OP is telling as to how damaged she is.

Nope. Again, you fail to understand why Governor Palin enjoys the support she does. What part of "fighting back" against the Left don't you understand? We have waited years for a Republican to fight back and we found our answer with Sarah.

I’ll be supporting another good candidate in 2012. Thune, DeMint, & Pence are all good alternatives.

No Congressman or Senator is going to be viable in 2012. Get that through your skull. We need a Governor - and that person is Sarah. Although as I stated before, I'll be more than happy to vote for someone like Mike Rounds of SD.

Techno, I have to disagree with you.
This race has no bearing on Palin's future or how the media will handle her. Remember that the media has thrown everything including the kitchen sink at Sarah, and she's still standing.

Coons' winning doesn't alter Palin's game plan at all.

I wrote this piece because obviously I am concerned that the MSM will after November 2nd have an ace in the hole to play against the GOP primary voters to convince them not to be stupid and vote for Sarah Palin who they not only deem to be “unelectable” but now have specific proof that she is.

Better to be prepared for the MSM line of attack now that to be caught unawares. I have never believed in burying my head in the sand.

Thune has indicated he won't run if Palin runs. DeMint has said he has no interest in running.

Pence may be great, but congresscritters never get traction in national elections, just ask that republican nominee Duncan Hunter (who was at least as good as Pence).

To arbitrarily say she is damaged goods is to give in to the MSM meme. Every candidate with an R will be damaged goods, they will try to destroy every single one; sorry we can't listen to the MSM any longer, and your comment is naive at best.

EEE:

If you notice I did not refer to Palin’s game plan but to the MSM strategy of taking Palin down. It is my contention if Coons wins big against O’Donnell with the specter of a Castle Senate pickup victory hanging over the proceedings in Delaware to add insult to injury, that this info can be used by the MSM to reinforce its argument that the GOP primary voters would be reckless to vote for Palin and not heed the evidence (provided by the MSM)that Palin would be slaughtered in the general election by Obama.

Again I did not refer to Palin’s autonomy in her presidential strategy in my piece but how the MSM could twist a massive Coon’s victory in Delaware to suit its purposes with respect to destroying Sarah Palin.

We never take complete unknowns for President. Usually they have to run for President and do ok, or be VP or VP nom. Or be talked about non-stop on the MSM, for good or bad.

Palin’s the front runner. Most if not all of her tea party candidates will be victorious.

If you like Ryan, it would be good if he ran, because if he ever wants to be President, he needs to get known somehow.

But the Presidential nominee in 2012 will be someone that a lot of people know.

What do people think about Lamar Alexander? He’s the type of guy who fits the mold. Long resume. Ran before. Governor and Senator and Administration experience.

He wouldn’t be the Conservative choice, but could be the Mainstream choice. Or the RINO choice. I’m not hyping him, but I’ve forgotten whatever it is I know about him that makes him unacceptable. Mitt Huckrich has a long long list of negatives. Lamar does too, I’m sure, but I’ve forgotten what they are. Something like Palin vs Lamar. Maybe even Palin vs Quayle, strange as that may seem.

Spelled potato wrong vs. Gay Marriage Mormon who brought Romneycare.

And Quayle is better known. Right now, I’d take Quayle over Romney Huckabee or Gingrich.

Truth be known, Palin has already been through the worst mud-slinging attacks possible. They have only made her stronger. Having already been trashed gives her a huge advantage, IMO.

BTW, I saw a video of her speaking last week. She has improved her delivery considerably. Her electability is increasing every day.
