Is Intelligence By Association Possible?

God did not create the universe, world-famous physicist Stephen Hawking argues in a new book that aims to banish a divine creator from physics.

Hawking says in his book "The Grand Design" that, given the existence of gravity, "the universe can and will create itself from nothing," according to an excerpt published Thursday in The Times of London.

"Spontaneous creation is the reason why there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist," he writes in the excerpt.

"It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper [fuse] and set the universe going," he writes.

I know hes supposed to be a genius and stuff so I'm afraid of saying something that might make me sound like I'm trying to act more intelligent than THE Steven Hawking...and stuff...but....

Where did the gravity come from? (The black hole in his theory...)

How did absolutely nothing become something?

Did God create gravity? Is there some sort of cosmic loophole that Hawking is desperately trying to find so he can preclude God from eclipsing his own brilliance? What gives?

I didn't come up with this, but even in the bygone (thank God) days when I was less religious (Christian) I lived by the credo "I don't have enough faith to be atheist." As each day passes I do my best to strive toward a life worthy of His glory, and my belief in that line has become inexorably bound to my soul.

I mean no disrespect to Hawking. He is, after all, a Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, a position once held by Sir Issac Newton himself. So nothing about his apparent atheism should actually be questioned since he's so freakin' brilliant...

Why do I suddenly feel my blog has been way too hard on Obama?

Who created that gravity and established the Laws of Physics?

This will initiate an endless loop: Who created God?

Where did the gravity come from?

That's easy - gravity comes from matter.

You didn't ask where matter comes from.

“Is Intelligence By Association Possible?”

If you believe this, you are hanging around the wrong crowd.

God is the essence of the endless loop.

“This will initiate an endless loop: Who created God?”

That question is a no-no. I’ve only asked it a million times. Not really,,,,,,,,,,,,,, only once is enough.

Here is my take on the big bang theory. Ok, so the Universe started from a big explosion, but what exploded? There was matter before the explosion and it had to be equal to the matter after the explosion, no matter how condensed the matter was before it went up, it had to be equal to what scattered out after the big bang.

So the question is, where did all that matter come from? Who, or what, brought it into existence? That question is never addressed, and the existence of the matter is simply glossed over.

Actually, you are wrong. Matter is inter-convertible with energy.

Therefore, the Big Bang, at its initial stages would have contained far, far less matter, and far more energy, than later stages.

"This will initiate an endless loop: Who created God?"

Nobody. That's why He's GOD. He always was. He didn't need a creator.

Okay, so here's my simplistic response to your notion:

What existed before the matter was energy, which with the right dimensional twists in spacetime turns into matter as it expands and thus 'cools'. So what kind of energy was this pre-bang stuff? ... The command from The Creator.

Hawking is probably too old now to push physics forward. It’s usually men in their prime that do, like mental athletes. Can’t imagine he’s doing anything real now. Which makes me think he’s just expressing his opinions.

The real trick for the nihilists is to show how the infinite contraction prior to the bang turned into expansion. Hawking likes the notion of imaginary time ... might as well be ‘the thought from God’.

He always was.

If you rationalise a 0/0 division, any number can be proven to be equal to any other number. This is somewhat like that.

If the said entity has the characteristic of timeless existence, then why is the act of creation trapped in a time-based bubble? What time-based factor influenced the creator to create, from within a period of infinite time, at the particular instance that it did, so to speak?

There's a huge problem with trying to splice together concepts of a time-based reality with a timeless hypothesis.

Spontaneous creation, huh? When was the last time we saw a physical law spontaneously show up (or disappear, for that matter)? Mr. Hawkings speaks in conflictese. The universe can pop into being, but there can’t be a God to create it? How does this make sense?

BS, explosions cannot create matter, only scatter it, or covert it to energy.

You are full of shit. Energy does not convert itself to energy, however the reverse is possible. Which means that the matter available before the big frickin' bang had to equal more than the matter after the bang, because some was turned into energy.

PS, the next time you see energy turned to matter let me know, I would be interested as would most scientist on earth.
